Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Darren,

That is a stunning machine!! It sounds great! It sounded good on the phone a few weeks ago, but even better now on video.

I'm sure we'll find you a detergent cup.

On the timer dial, do you have the pieces? I have noticed that several of my older KMs have cracked translucent dials and they appear to have been glued, I'm guessing with model airplane glue. It may be better than nothing until something better comes up.

Speaking of that, if we find a donor '64 Lady, I could use two push buttons for mine.

Finally, there was a member on here a couple years ago who had this semi-infamous "BOX OF KNOBS". I am pretty sure he was in Detroit. I may flex the Super Searcholator later and see if I can find the thread (I know James/70-series remembers the screen name though). Maybe there is a dial for you in that box? I could use a couple others as well to fancy-up a couple Kenmo's.

GREAT washer Darren!

Can't believe the chrome

It's so like a mirror you can see the washer reflecting back perfectly.

And my God, it's a suds. So happy for you.

Spectacular, Darren !

its a very basic machine, I have played with it for a while, but only one speed, 2 cycle(normal, gentle), standard capacity, one fill level, bakelite surgilator (no chrome cap), 3 temps(h/w, ww, c/c), the best part is the magic mix filter.....not a lot of drama otherwise, but a very clean machine, manuals and all....its dated 1962

AWESOME! That was something very special. Congratulations Darren on the restoration of one of the most beautiful LKs. Thanks for showing the videos, I loved them.

Gordon: The BOX O' KNOBS thread is what you are looking for, and that dates back a few years. I hate to disappoint, but the lightbulb is only flickering on the screename of the guy who posted it. I know it is someone who was on the site, and left at least for awhile, if not permanently. A few possibilities come to mind, but yes it was someone from the midwest. To narrow down your search I do know the thread is located in the 2007 archives.

Thank you guys so much ...You guys have given me a Hurricane of love !!!
I'm so glad the machine came out the way it did, it's not my machine really it is the groups because if anything happens to me it goes right back to someone here who can keep it going.

Main thing is I wanted the machine archived for the site so now there are three that I know of that can be seen ...Gordons and Johns machines.

The only thing now is just the minor touch ups that was mention above hopefully they will come along.
There is a manual that needs to be scanned and I will add more videos of the machine in the other speeds and a permenent press cycle.
The Delicate cycle is interesting as well.

Big hugs back to all of you.
Peace Darren[this post was last edited: 2/18/2011-10:18]
