What do people think about it re cleaning ability, stain removal, rinsing, keeping white laundry white, color preservation, and scent?

Just my opinion.........
not nearly as good as it used to be, decent performance, very expensive for the price, and the company is notoriously right wing politically.
I used to love it. I don't any more.
My current laundry detergent is Persil Proclean 2-in-1 Original Scent. Simply great, cleans better than Tide, and to me, has a wonderful scent that never clashes with whatever cologne I am or am not wearing that day.
Just my experience.

The son of the founders (Devos or Devil) was under investigation for crimes committed by his mercenary "security forces" (another case of government contracts awarded to retuglican friends of friends) in Iraq or one of those kitty litter countries so he skipped the country for Abudoodoo or one or another of those Islamic states where the rich live very well and the poor, well, fuck 'em.
The people who sell the products have to go to weekly or monthly meetings to be indoctrinated in right wing ideology.
If you want to spend good money on an excellent, effective and truly premium laundry detergent that can even be used as a dishsmasher detergent in a pinch, buy Rosalie's. It's invented and made by one of our own, in several ways, and rethugs will not profit from its sale.

Again, if you are contemplating buying a truly premium detergent, don't think that what you pay to the A-company buys you anywhere near as good a detergent as Rosalie's Zero Suds. I use it with STPP and it is the only domestic product that keeps deodorant/anti-perspirant stains from building up in my undershirts and it is the only detergent, other than Persil Universal Powder, that permits my HE washers to spin after the wash without sudslocking with a load of bath sheets.

Thought I would throw in my 1-1/2 cents here. I have used SA8 for over 30 years and have found nothing better for cleaning. I haven't noticed any difference in any change in formulations over the years. My social needle tilts far left so I do have an awareness of companies who support a worldview that is different than mine and I make decisions based on that. I haven't bought Barilla (which I thought was the best) pasta for some time now as an example but have replaced it with other pasta I find to be very good. I make an exception with SA8, as white whites I won't compromise on so if Amway is a pyramid, brainwashes their staff, loves Jesus or Trump or both I don't care as I want the cleanest clothes possible.
PLEASE understand I am not making this statement as to say the above comments are wrong. My experience with SA8 is mine alone with many variables factored into this including the entire laundry process which differs from person to person. AND YES, I have a tried and have a large arsenal of products that I will use from time to time depending on what I am washing. We all get to draw our boycott and social lines wherever we want, none of this is about right & wrong or an exact science from SA8. You're not alone. I've tried them all. I keep going back to SA8. "It just a works" for me. I cycle through others...currently on a Persil kick...but always go back to SA8. The aerosol spray remover they have is THE BOMB. Been buying it from the nice Amway lady since 1991. I feel good seeing my purchase help her family. She's never tried to do anything other than give good customer service.
To be perfectly sincere, I have bought SA8 about 3 times in my life -- the first two were to "help" friends who had become Amway distributors, and the third time was when I heard people here say the product had improved and the company had started a website (Quixtar?) which meant I didn't have to deal with people with high-pressure sales tactics.
The good points of the SA8 "system" was that it had separate components: SA8 detergent for regular laundry, then you could buy Trizyme if your laundry had bad stains that needed more enzymes, color-safe bleach, "Smashing White" (a phosphate add-on) etc. All the products were very highly concentrated compared to what the market offered in the mid-90's. Very low-sudsing, the scents were not overpowering, but also very expensive. So you could mix and match the products to whatever each cycle needed. For the mid-90's the results were quite good.
Then I found out I could buy Persil here, and also the American products started getting better and more concentrated, which basically made SA8 not as attractive to me.
Then a few years ago people here commented that they improved the SA8 formula (SA8-Plus?) and I tried the Quixtar website. I found the products had not improved much, and the prices were still more than I want to pay given that the American products have improved a whole lot and I still can get Persil from Germany and now the American Persil, which, while not quite as good as the German version, is still very good.
I can tell you that your mileage can vary, 'cuz several people here have complained that the American Persil causes too much suds in their water conditions, when it's basically very low sudsing for me (the water in the Boston Area is naturally soft).
An lately I have been very happy with Rosalie Zero Suds, which I hope will give all the other brands a good run for their money.

I used the Amway detergent about 20 years ago. Bought a gallon jug from a lady I worked with. That bottle lasted me a year, and that was with me and my partner's laundry. It seemed to clean well, from what I remember.
I really know nothing about the company itself and their political views. I'm sure there are many companies in this country that support a point of view that I don't agree with. Doesn't mean I won't buy their products if I desire to. Actually I bought some of those cotton wash clothes from the Cozy Cottons website (or whatever it is called). It arrived packed with a Biblical verse which made me chuckle but I just tossed it and am very happy with the product I bought from them.
One of my old coworkers is a super conservative strict Catholic republican. He would turn any conversation into a political argument. Needless to say, I rarely talked to him because his views were not even in the same galaxy as mine. He talked about how his mother kept a binder full of companies that supported abortions, so they could boycott them. I swear he had the list memorized. I was like, seriously? You're not going to buy Dr. Scholl's because they support abortion?? LMAO. Buy what you like/need based on the product, not the views of it's leaders.

I try to separate
politics and religion, but I have learned that there are good and bad, logical, and illogical in all walks of life.
Most issues have double edged swords. Ex; Hobby Lobby does not pay for birth control. but they must pay for pre natal and neo natal, and pediatric care.
No choices we have are forced on anyone in this great nation. Buy what you want. It's as it should be.
if one does not believe in a law or a certain freedom, they are free to practice it, or not to. Same for abortion, and I know a few devout catholics who had one as teens and young adults.
That said, voting for any candidate based on their stance on it is a sad reason to vote for them. We are almost 8 billion people on earth. What exactly are they trying to conserve?
They sure didn't conserve the economy from 2002 through 2009 either.
Oh, and off the record, yes, I like the man from Vermont. Not that he could really change much, but he believes in a strong middle class.
It's the best type of economy any nation can ever have.
When we spend, we spend back to companies. When we are able to save, us, and companies can borrow at lower interest rates.
Our local auto workers supported my job through the 70's, 80's, 90's, and into the new millennium, so I supported theirs.
