I just scanned in the receipt for the SQ dryer that we use in our house. We originally sold this dryer to a customer in 1982; some years later, he traded it in, because he didn't want to replace the solenoids in the gas valve. So the dryer sat in our back yard for a few years.
We were using a Blackstone dryer (of course), until the drum needed replacing. The metal support in the back of the drum wore out, so the drum was constantly scraping against the cabinet. I did not have a replacement drum, so I scrapped the Blackstone and brought in the Speed Queen (at least 10 years ago). Cleaned it up, replaced the solenoids, and the dryer has been going ever since (with minor repairs).
37 years, if you include the resting period in the back yard.
