Wow. Samsung has a pretty deep hole to crawl out of now. Good.
At two years and ten days, a green line appeared on my Samsung LED TV last month. Costco doubles the manufacturer's warranty as part of their membership but my green line showed up ten days after. Online reports on repair sites say it's likely either the main board or the entire display panel that is bad. Last Samsung product I'll buy, ever.

Bummer on the TV problem. Indeed it could be the main board or the display panel. It could also be in the cabling between them too, but that is probably less likely (worth checking if you haven't though). You could try Shopjimmy.com for a replacement board to see if you want to try to shotgun a part into it. May be a bit pricy for a whim though.
The funny thing is that I have run nothing but Samsung computer monitors since about 1998 and they have been almost 100% perfect. I did repair two LCD's with fluorescent backlights, one was bad caps and the other had a bad inverter transformer. I have been looking at buying a new 4K TV and all I have looked at have been Samsung models. All brands will have occasional failures, not sure Samsung is worse then any of the rest.
I wouldn't consider a Samsung appliance, or phone for that matter. Although the phone choice is because I don't want a phone running a 'free' OS...

I have a Toshiba TV . . .
. . . that developed a similar line but it was red and on the left side. It was one week after the one year warranty was up. I was told that I had a bad pixel and that the whole screen would have to be replaced which cost the equivalent of a new TV.
You know? The longer I look at that TV, the thinner that line gets. Since there's not much on TV worth watching these days, the red line has not bothered me a bit.

I don't think one pixel being bad would cause a line across the entire screen.
My Panasonic plasma had one bad pixel fresh out-of-the-box, which has remained the same for the duration. It passed 14 years old two months ago. I can find the pixel if I look close on a blue or white screen but it's unnoticeable at normal viewing distance.
The LCD screen on my new LG 4K LED set is fine-GREAT picture!!!The instructions say there could be dead pixles-but haven't found any.With this TV---no longer have to go to the theater!
