Very tempting, Hoover! Funny, in all my years with Sanitaires I never had a VG I bearing go bad. Bristles went to hell fast, but never a bearing. I think the four brush VG I would be great with indoor/ outdoor and low piles, but what about plushes?

I'd never heard of of VG bearings going either, but then aggain the cleaner was getting alot of use, 4-5 hours a night, 3 nights a week. A typical night's route was 2 sets of 4 model homes, 1800-2600 square feet in size. I'd plug in somewhere central downstairs and vacuum the whole house from one outlet!

I have 1/2 inch plush in my LR/DR in steel grey, the 4 brush leaves nice tracks and gets all the dog hair too. I think it improves performance a little too.

Hoover, are these genuine Eureka or knock offs?

you can also slide the beater bar out of a regular VG and replace it with a bristle strip. thats what i did. worked well on my 3.5 amp Eurekas.
