she runs fine but a few months ago the flap in the pump for the spin side broke off at that time i was able to get the pump off and remove the broken part. the wash tub side was still working. well now that flap has broken off. and both hoses from both tubs are split so if i can beg anyone again for a good pump and a pair of hoses ill give it a shot at saving the machine. but if there is nothing out there i think its time to scrap/recycle the machine. thanks

best to pass over to someone who can get/make the parts to fix it ,or just push into a corner and throw a blanket over it.

You probably won’t get much if you were to scrap it. Probably can make more just be selling it to someone who will appreciate it and find a way to fix it.

Unbelievable synchronicity~

I worked on one of four Easies just now, the last edition Easy Spin where the pump is mounted to the agitator shaft. I removed the nipple from the pump assembly. Send me your address and I'll mail it to you.

When GregM gave me a barely used Classic Easy many years ago because it leaked, the spinner to pump hose had a split which responded perfectly to a clear silicone gel whose name I can't remember, Chris, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. The seal had held for 15+ years.

Just came up from the basement, so happy from a successful pump adventure, I tuned in, now beaming to help.

thanks for the advice have the rubber flapper part its the metal arm inside the pump that rotted off. the pump impeller blades are fine. i figured i could always use some sort of drain stopper under the agitator to keep the wash tub full. the pull the agitator when done and remove the drain plug. that would work. just still not sure how to repair the split hoses.

I just did the exact same thing, using a plug under the agitator.

For the leaks: The silicone gel which I remember as kinda viscous, looser than gel, worked a treat. You'll know what kind to get. Just slather it on, and let it cure for a few days, and you'll be Easy Spinning again. Was shocked that it worked. Beginner's luck. Still holding. And that was on the thinner elephant trunk hose with two different sized ends.

Easy...

That pump to spinner hose is really special.

When it split on my Spindrier, I was able to remove it in one piece
and wrapped the entire hose with Flex Tape.

That was about 3 years ago and it's still holding.

If I remember correctly, you have to remove the spin basket and remove the
drain insert in order to remove the drain hose.

i need to get to the store and see what selection they have in silicone and or rtv sealers. can try the seal a hose trick. dosnt hurt to try. will give that a whirl and see what happens

Gosh, haven’t been under this Easy in a long time because it works perfectly. Looks like it turned into a Band-Aid of sorts. I know I bought the tube of stuff at either AutoZone’s competitor—I can’t think of the name— or Lowes. I bet if John or Ben or Glenn or Melvin sees this they’ll know exactly what it is. Again, it did not go on as a piece of tape; it was liquidy.

Don’t scrap that beautiful machine.

well.. im rolling my eyes.. got the hoses coated with sealer let that cure got the pump back on the linkage reattached the hose from the spin side back on .. went to put the other hose back on and it split a good 2 1/2 inches up . am trying to figure a way to get my hands up in there and splice a section in. arggg

its still parked. was able to coat the hose from the spin side to the pump with sealer and that looks good. the hose from the wash side to the pump totally fell apart. so im trying to come up with something i can rig up to work. if im able to come up with what im thinking might work ill for sure take pictures. that space between the bottom of the tub and the transmission is very tight.
