Lights
We had the washer of that vintage, bought in 1969, probably a 1968 model. It was not coppertone but a dark edged beige. I’ve never seen another like it. Small tub. It was Mom’s pride and joy. The dial lit up when the machine was on. Surprisingly, the full width plastic lens under the console did not. It was a Supreme 80. That plastic lens lit up with fluorescent light only on the TOL model, Mark XII.
That model looks like a Supreme 80, so I doubt it lights up.
But any halfway handy person could no doubt easily rig a fluorescent ballast or LED lighting for it.
(Mom ran that washer constantly. After a water pump replacement it was extremely noisy and rattle-trap sounding for years. Then it bit the dust around 1998. I think the spin tube and drive shaft rusted out completely. It sounded like the tranny was full of rocks and it agitated erratically with lots of whining and labor. They let it sit full of water until it all evaporated. After that I figured it was used and rusted beyond resto, and I didn’t have time to mess around finding a home for it and dealing with someone else’s pickup/shipping, so I trashed it about a year ago. It was a you’re-old moment. The kids from 1-800-Got-Junk had never seen anything like it and thought it was from the 19th century. They couldn’t believe how heavy it was.)
