Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

As long as they state how many are available there's no problem. You've been forewarned. It's when they don't say so where it usually becomes deceptive advertising. Same with the never ending sales. Most consumer laws in most states and provinces have rules on how often an item can be on sale in one year, if it's on sale too often then the sale price would legally become the "regular" price. Thing is most govt agencies who are supposed to be on the lookout don't police that sort of thing unless they get a lot of complaints.

A raincheck is a coupon/note you get from the store when they run out of an advertised special so you can get it at the sale price when new stock comes in at a later date. You don't get them on items advertised as "limited quantities" usually

I went through this last year!

Talked to a real nice owner of a local Sears Appliance store. She told me that they had four per store. If they sold more than 4 (by accident) the store would have to pay the difference from the regular price. They told me that the laundry pair could be ordered online, but came from different suppliers without them (no store service, if their was a problem, they could not help) They were nice enough to let me look at one of the washers early(they were told to keep them locked up in the back). I was not impressed, seemed flimsy and no way to drain the pump, and reach the filter, and no hole for the water to drain out of the fold of the gasket. I have bought all the appliances in my house(except the washer/dryer) from these people. I went ahead and bought the LG from Best Buy. I had to call them at the actual store because they did not take online orders for the black Friday special. I had a problem getting my laundry pair from the store(making it out the store with them, but that is for another thread.

its does not pay!!!!

i was a store manager for sears, two years ago they hd the fridg/kenmore fl pair for 499.99. it was absolute bedlam..
there were no quantities advertised, and the machines were ordered for delivery through march. i bought a set for me parents for deliver in march that year.. mid day, they closed out that and were no longer available to order it, but they quickly sub'd a samsung set for a bit more money. people are nuts. as stated in previous message on this site, some people were buying for the sport of it..the sensation of getting it.. i do recall, many were cancelled before delivery occurred. its a human nature thing, sensationalism. last year was the first ad disclosing 4 per store.. it was mediocre results. that 4am opening just didnt do anything in sales basically. Sears whores out there "specials" throughout the year- and i find best buy, or our local PC RICHARDS, always still do better in pricing.. i looked through this ad on line here. its all the same predictable products advertised. for example, housewares- its the same sales on the same small aappliances, ready to assemble furniture the same- that pub set, lol.. cant tell you how many i had to zero out and throw away because customers simply didnt want them.
if anyone is getting up to shop aat 4am on black friday, better off heading off to a store with some unique and great deals. sears is just not the place.
they are simply vacuumed in by way of predictable advertising. typical and egotistical, they still think they have a loyal customer base- NOT!!!!!!!
they are dinosaurs!!

I remember Sears doing that!

Black Friday 2008. I remember going to Sears that day (to buy a waffle maker) and walked by washer/dryer pair. The line was so long by the appliance dept that I left my husband in line, to looks at these things. I told my husband about it in conversation, and he said go buy them since we were in line anyway(I was shocked), then we could put them in the back of the truck and go home. I told the guy standing next to the set, that I was wanting to purchase one set and have my husband drive around outside and have it put in the back of the truck. I was shocked when the guy said we could buy it today, but we couldn't get it till I think it was April, or August or something along those ways. I said no thanks, bought my waffle maker and left.(I was in Lubbock TX) I am glad that I didn't purchase the set now since I own an LG now, which seems like a better machine(knock on wood)

Black Friday 2008!!!!

I also remember lots of pissed off customers and employees wanting to tear their hair out. The Sears computers crashed or something like that. That was why the line took forever to buy that waffle maker. How did you keep from screaming off into the night on that day? I want this washer and I want it NOW!!!!! I felt sorry for that guy.

WoW!!!

I just saw the ad in westie's link. That is a nice set. That looks nicer then what I got. The Black Friday washers of yesteryear didn't look like that($499 one). I would have waited six months for that. I wonder how may people are going to wait out in the cold for that. I remember when my mom and sister got into a fight at the KB toy-store over a Cabbage Patch Kid. I still have it to this day.
