A question for those in the know.
It will be a year March 30 that I bought my 71 year old mom a Kenmore 400 series super capacity dryer for her birthday.
I bought it from an independent dealer, worst service ever.
It received little use all spring summer and fall due to the nice weather.
Once November came it started to get more use.
The paint on the top bubbled and chipped off exposing bare metal.
I called Sears and they said it was cosmetic and would not fix it.
I went to the manager of the Sears store an hour away and they sent a repair person out and replaced the top.
Two weeks ago it started to make a grating sound.
I called Sears again and they sent another repair person along with an apprentice.
The rollers on the drum were not properly aligned and it tipped the drum forward enuff to allow a paper clip to get between the two pieces of metal and cause the grating sound when the drun revolved.
The wheels were replaced and drum realigned.
Question, Sears wants to know if I would llike to extend the warranty for two years at $64.00.
is there much more to go wrong with this dryer?
It works well but I'm wondering if I got a dud?
