Hi, I'm new here. Great site!
I've been searching for the Speed Queen Factory Service Manual and Parts Manual for my new Speed Queen AWN542 that I just ordered today. I'm not having any luck finding either.
I've learned from some posts that some of the older models manuals are simular. However I'd love to get the Manuals that are for the current AWN542. Anybody have any ideas?
I've been using many search engines, but have not come up with anything. What would be best is a web site link to online manuals.
I usually fix/maintain my own 'stuff', and service manuals and parts manuals are the main tool that make it possible. My old HotPoint washer I bought new in 1979 has finally passed away :( The parts it needs are not repairable any longer and not available new. I bought it when we started the family, now the kids are grown and out of the house, and the machine is still running, but does have some issues.

Anybody have any suggestions where I can get the AWN542 Speed Queen Washer Service and Parts Manuals ?

Thanks in advance,
Will

Hotpoint.

What part failed, or what is the symptom of failure? Many of us have sources of parts. Also, Hotpoints of your generation share many many parts with GE and Hotpoint washers up to 1995. They aren't the most complicated of washers to fix either. The Speed Queen is a great choice, likely the best of the new washers, but having a second washer can be quite handy.

Interesting,
Dave

AWN542 Service&Parts Manuals?

Hi Dave,
My 1979 HotPoint problems are:
1) Outter top of tub rusted through from banging out of balance. we always ran downstairs to stop it and redistribute the load when it did that on spin, but with a 1,000,000 miles of use it has added up over the years.
2) Clutch pads are worn crocked from clutch hub shaft crimp being broken. I welded back to one one piece, so now the clutch arms are straight again, but the lining is still worn at an angle.
3) The Pull to Start Water Fill contact is worn inside the switch housing, to the water refill for the rinse cycle does not start the water valve smoothly, leaving the water valve shuttering and shacking the house plumbing. Pushing lightly on the Pull to Start Water Fill knob gets it going again.
We bought this machine when my first child was born. It has washed a family or four's clothers for 31 years. I've kept it running, but there comes a time to pull the plug.
I am still hoping someone gets back to me with information about where I can get the Service and Parts Manual(s) for the new Speed Quinn AWN542 I ordered.
Dave, do you have any suggestions about where I can get them?
Thanks. Will

SQ Service manual

Your machine will come with an ordering form to order the service manual and/or catalog part. But if you wanna save some $$$, there is some service manuals for the Alliance's made Amana available online. The link is available if you follow this thread:

Information in reference to taday's SQ are similar if not identical. Hope this helps.

Still no Service or Parts Manual for new SpeedQueen Washer A

Thanks for trying to help me Huebschman,
Got my new SpeedQueen Washer AWN542 delivered today 8/25/2010!
1) No order form was included to order the Service Manual and/or Parts Manual. And I was present the whole time the factory sealed box was opened and got all literature. Included was just the usual User's Guide and Installation Instructions.
2) Also the suggested link you recommended in your reply is just that someone else got a manual at "Appliance 411" for an older Amana. I've already been to "Applicance 411", however there is no literature for the new Speed Queen Washer AWN series. That is the reason I was reaching out in this forum.
3) So, if anybody knows how I can get a copy of the Service Manual and Parts Manual for a Speed Queen Washer model AWN54, that would be perfect. I know there are other manuals for simular machines, but I already have those. What I want is the actual AWN Manuals. I am willing to purchase them is anybody has copies.
Thanks again Huebschman, and thanks in advance to anybody who may get back to me.

Will, the design of these washers hasn't changed substantially in 10+ years. Here are a few threads if you're interested in raising your water levels. If you do come up with a service manual for your specific washer please let us know. The bottom link is the latest one I have.
