I've been seeing this guy named Michael, and Michael's 1925 Vintage house is for sale. He wants something smaller.
This is the dishwasher in his kitchen, I am unsure of its age but its model # is KUDS22.
I've been telling Michael he should NOT leave this behind when he moves, rather get some cheapie replacement and save this.
I haven't heard it run, he says it works great.
Opinions?

PS took the pic with my phone, sorry for the bad quality

Correct me some one if i am wrong yall

This appears to be a late 1980's-mid 1990's Kitchen aid by Whirlpool unit.. IMHO i would let it go.. There a bunchs out there (at least around here) and they where good units, but not the true kitchen aids

Chad, I will immediately correct you. This is something worth saving. It's still based on the hobart KitchenAids. In fact I believe the 22 series , and I do know for sure the 23 series, had the whirlpool PowerClean module in them, which John LeFever and Tomturbomatic have said was one of the best cleaning KAs. If theer are bunches around there Chad, they need to be rescused if they're in very good shape. What a waste!! & BTW, a beautiful custom cabinet front panel on it.

In fact Jeff, when Steve 1-18 was here bringing me my front loader, we were scouring around the aera for just such a KA Superba, KUDS22 or KUDS23 or a KUDHJ22 OR KUDJ23 (like GadgetGary found). I'm not giving up hope yet.

Wow... Did not know this... Thank you very much Bob...
I have seen about 30 or so go to the crusher very similar to this unit...
Yes there are crap loads of them here in Western North Carolina..One (if not) the most popular made/used units here in High end homes.. Matter of fact, one house i have for sale was built in the lat 80's has a similar (if not the same) unit and is going strong..I do know that the two i have used wheer alright, but i didn't think much of either...
I often see these at Habitat and Salvation Army, Behind Sears and So Forth..
If i find some, I will get them if some one will take them.. I don't have the space.. If i did, i would hang on to one..

I officaly retract my aboove statement!...

Matter of fact
If the neighbors down the street put theres where i can get my paws on it, i think they have a BOL 1987 vintage Kitchenaid as well..They are doing like we did, a full gut and remodel and i know there beautiful Coppertone Kenmore Hi/Lo Gas Stove was out side and was taken by a neighbor to replace her's... They also had a matching Fridge as well, but i think she said they where going to keep that...
Will go ask

its in good shape too

So we should save it then?
I told Michael he could buy a cheapie at Sears or Best Buy and save this KA.

descision has been made...

At some point soon we will swap out this Kitchenaid and save it.

However I have been put on notice, if it breaks I am the one who has to fix it!

Whats the vintage of this machine?

Jeff, I had the one after this, they're wonderful machines, just as their predecessors were. My former roommate still has it, its about 10 years old now. This one is not that old so any fixing that needs doing shouldn't be too much drama.

I'm glad you're seeing someone nice, and btw that's actually a pretty good picture for a phone!

Gary my friend,

It shall be saved!
I get to do the honors of un-installing it...

Now we just need to find a kitchen to put it in!

Scott: yes Michael is very nice, and we enjoy each other very much.
