Percheron Horses

This is a majestic animal, by any standards. They are about twice the size of a regular horse. They are used in the fields for heavy chores.

San Ramon

This is a front shot of San Ramon, where Aberdeen Angus cattle is bred and raised. This is a beautiful estancia, which belongs to Betty, another of my aunts.

Aljibe - San Ramon

This is a shot by the aljibe at San Ramon, the well which saves rain water. There is a gutter system which collects rain water from the roofs of the whole estancia. When is starts raining, first you let the rain rinse the roofs during some minutes. Once you are shure water is running clear, you switch some pipes and water is saved inside the aljibe. Then it is recovered with a bucket with a pole and a chain. The system is almost 120 years old and works flaulessly! From left to right, my wife, aunt Betty, her pooch and my mother (would you believe my mother is 81 years old?)

Stake corral

Last, a very interesting picture of a stake corral at La Conchera. This stake corral is reported to be the very last stake corral in the whole country. All other stake corrals of other estancias have succumbed to "modern times". I love to walk this corral, over and over, every time I go there. My great aunt is very proud of it!

Please, my excuses to all AW member for such long disgression from the original topic of this thread!

My great aunt Sarita

Sorry, but I had forgotten to post a picture of my great aunt Sarita! From left to right, my son Juan, my great aunt Sarita (90 years old!), my wife and aunt Nelly (who is a young 85 years old!). Yes, most of my family members live to be close to 100... OMG!
