Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Greg - that is one HOT Plymouth - dig the color. I must ask though - did you, or a previous owner install the Keystones? *shutter* lol I bet it would scoot pretty well with a 318 - drop even a 340 in there and you have a real barn burner there ~

Put the windows down and let the bass out...

You guys are too old school about the hood.lol! More often than not, a nice car is referred to as "the whip" or "my whip" or "bad ass whip"

Here is one of mine

ghost riding the whip

Is what we sometimes do with this one. Put the car into "low" everyone gets out of the car, dance around it, climb on the bumpers or door jambs, sit on the trunk and fenders, and ride and wave, high fivez, run around the car a couple times, then everybody get back in the car,and drive away. All while the car is still moving in low gear.

Thats how we ghost ride this whip

(And this is the only one of mine we ghost ride)

Well, whip my ass, Ricky

I'm just an eastern honky, thought I was up on my jive. And i know you are way hip.

How nice to see you again.

You car is as beautiful as a washing machine!

Is there a finer compliment?

Thanks, Scott. I'd better stick to my noreastern accent. Think the reference to "ride" is from HBO's Entourage. Maybe a crappy car is a ride. Nice to see you Scott. When Robert publishes best seller, Deleted Super Forums, we're gonna get live video and audio of each other. Won't that be grand??!!

Everyday whip

Is what this one is. Nothing to hold onto, plus plastic scratchable bumpers, so not good for "riding the whip" lol!

Hey, your all good Mike.
btw: We don't ever call it "the ghetto" either. We live in "da hood" or just plain "hood" Thats cool, but saying "the ghetto" is not. It's home to us.

Am usually called Ricky, or Pretty Ricky among our squad, so you do get an A+ for the "Ricky" <:

cars of my past...

1976 Eldorado. I owned this one for 19 years. Sold it via Ebay in 2003 for $15,000.00 I puchased it in 1984 for $3800.00, so did really well with this one. I parked it in front of the library to take the pixs for the Ebay auction.

77 Coupe de Ville

my 1958 Chevy

The "hot rod" years.... Was going with a guy in high school that was a real "gear head" for fast cars. So, we had to do this. <: It had a 409 in it.

My Pontiac, purchased in July of 1990

Was this 1962 Grand Prix. I used to buy my cars from the West Coast area. Usually LA. Fly out, find a cool car and drive it back to the Mid West. Keep it for awhile then sell for a profit. It was the days before things like ebay, so I had a good thing going.Rust free western cars were rare around here. People wanted them, but didn't know how to go about getting one. This idea of mine, would pay for my vacation, plus I had money for another car, so it was cool.

This car, I never made any money on. My sister HAD to have it, (and in fact still owns it) so I sold it to her for what I had in it. Now it needs some work again, so will be doing work on this car once again, this summer.

I have some other car pixs, but don't have them scanned.

.

Thanks Scott! I loved it, but after 19 years it was time to go. I had bought the 55 Cadillac, so it was the Olds, or the Eldo that had to go. So Eldo went. <:

Here another pix.

Rick------

I had a '76 Eldo (not a convertible) and it was a real cream puff---pastel yellow with white leather and white vinyl top. The only problem I had with it was the lack of horsepower with such a huge engine! I got spoiled by the 1970 Eldo!

Your yellow and white '56 looks like a great cruiser.(A series 62?)

You are right about those '77's being nearly indestructible. Everyone I ever knew that had one loved 'em and couldn't wear 'em out. Cadillac must have felt they had much to prove with the first of the "downsized" models. I remember them well at the funeral home, and they drove and handled so much better than the '76 hogs did.

Was the G/P a standard shift?

Thanks for sharing----I may scan a few of my previous loves before someone screams "bandwidth"! Tee-Hee-hee

Hey Steve!
My Eldo was fairly fast, but it had the fuel injection so that may have helped. It was a very heavy car, so the engine still seemed underpowered, considering it was a 500 CID engine.

The yellow and white Cadillac is a 1955 Coupe de Ville.

I loved my 77 Coupe de Ville! It WAS fast! And a fun car to drive. It was a full sized car, but handled like a much smaller car. I finally sold it at 198,000 miles. It never used oil, and the body never rusted. I sold it for $2800.00 in 2000.

Post away. If you have something, throw it up!

Rick, you know how I feel about your sister's 62 .... aw, such a beauty, just look at those tailights!

I didn't know you had an EFI '76 Eldo - you should see Cory's 76 EFI Eldo - now that car is FAST!
