What laundry and dishwashing detergent is everybody using these days?

Laundry, depending on the load, I use either liquid or powdered Tide in the Original scent. Sometimes I'll use Persil ProClean liquid if I feel like switching things up a bit.

Dishwasher I use Cascade Complete powder in the Fresh Scent variety.

Kitchen sink I use Dawn for soaking tough messes but original green Palmolive for things I hand wash.

Just finished a jug of Tide Ultra Stain Release and now have two of the newer Heavy Duty 10X. The 10X is substantially more expensive, so we’ll see how it stacks up to USR. The 10X is formulated to work in both traditional and HE machines; USR is recommended for only HE machines.

Persil Proclean + Stain Release does a fantastic job and is usually my go-to for heavily stained loads. Unfortunately the local Hy-Vee has stopped carrying it.

Tried Bubble Bandit today along with a scoop of their All-Fabric Bleach Booster. Results on a huge but not horribly stained load were great. Will give the combo a tougher test on a heavily-stained load of kitchen whites sometime next week. Bath linens feel a bit softer compared to being washed in my two daily driver detergents.

Perwoll Renew Advanced: The best damn detergent out there for keeping blacks black longer. It’s as expensive as truffles these days, but worth it.

In Loving Memory Of: Sadly, my stash of Rosalie’s Zero Suds, which I loved for loads of bath linens, is long gone. Long gone from its website as well. Don’t know if it’s coming back at some point or if this unique offering is a thing of the past.

Member’s Mark Ultimate Clean Pacs (dishwasher): Have used these for years, now, to great results in softened water. They’re a bargain, too, at 10 cents per pac. They were reformulated recently, have new packaging, and are currently top-rated at CR.

Bubble Bandit (dishwasher): Experienced disappointing results on cookware. Everything else in load was clean. Am going to gift it to a friend who uses a dishwasher in hard water. She’ll probably experience an improvement in cleaning and it will gradually get rid of all the hard water deposits in her machine.

Washer-had been using Persil ProClean + Stain Fighter.  Loved it but made too many suds in loads such as jeans, towels and caused suds locks--first in my Duet of 2011 vintage.  Snuggle Blue Sparkle.  Detergent now is Tide 10X Heavy Duty.  when that bottle is emply, going to try Tide UltraStain Release per Frigilux's recommendations.  Dawn Dishwashing Liquid Antibacterial.

Dishwasher is Bubble Bandit.  I have extremely hard water and works well on coffee tea stains and on Pyrex Bakewear.

Detergents

Currently using Tide Ultra Stain Release in both Original Scent and Free versions. Truly a great product.
Downy WrinkleGuard Softener.
Cascade Platinum with Dawn. Switched from Finish after the new Quantum formulation was leaving minor particles on knives that looked like corrosion? Polished them off, no issues since.
Jet Dry Advanced.
Dawn Powerclean or Dawn Advanced from Costco depending on items.

Still adding 1 Tsp STPP in the dishwasher, and 1T in the wash.

New kind of detergent

Picked that up some time ago: Dissolveable detergent sheets.

Got them for coloreds right now.
They are like foam gummy consistency, you can tear them as need be.
20 sheets in a pack, you need 1 for a normal sized load in normal water.

Advantage is you can tear them and thus dose more exact than a pack jet easier than liquid or powder.

Verry low sudsing, low smell but good overall.
Expensive-ish though (yet not much more or less than normal priced detergent packs).

Laundry: Ariel Original (Love the fragrance in the summer!), FOCA (using it up on loads I add Clorox to), and Tide w/ Bleach for the Bendix Combo and Kenmore Collapso.
Still have a decent supply of phosphated VIVA for really badly soiled clothes.

Glad to see this thread, always curious as to what others are using and I've learned a few things in the past about detergents.

For laundry, currently have a small stash of Tide W/Bleach that's running low, All Free & Clear for most loads, and powdered Oxydol for whites.

I'm really liking the Oxydol, low sudsing, excellent cleaning, and whites are bright. It smells the same as I remember (Meadow Fresh). And it's dirt cheap....like $1.00 a box. Think it's the find of the year for me.

Have observed that the All Free & Clear, though it cleans pretty good, it has trouble tackling really tough stubborn odors...found that out when I had to dog sit. That detergent was recommended to me due to a rash that broke out using Gain a couple of years ago. I hate this aging thing!!! LOL.

I do like Persil, but I think it fades colors.

Rarely, if ever, use any type of fabric softener due to the septic system we have. That old bottle probably needs to be thrown out. Lol.

For dishwashing, liquid Palmolive, do like the extra strength, or Ajax Lime & Vinegar. Every once in a while I'll buy Ivory, always yearning for that old smell it used to have. For the dishwasher, Cascade Platinum but will often add a small dab of a very cheap brand (BestBuy) for the prerinse. I learned that from someone on this site, and I think it does aid in cleaning.

For pre-spot stain, I make my own and it has never let me down. In a spray bottle, mix one part water, one part ammonia, & one part top shelf dishsoap. Very easy and it lasts and lasts. I think it was originally designed for older top loading machines that uses tons of water, but with my t/l SQ it works.

Well, for the past year or so was using Persil Pro Clean liquid. Mainly because Costco started carrying it. But it ran out during the shutdown so I got some new Tide HE liquid. I prefer the Persil, but the Tide's not bad either. And usually I add a tablespoon of STPP at the start of each fill, let it dissolve on through, and then add the liquid detergent. For stubborn stained whites, might use some "Dry Clorox" which is basically an oxygen bleach (sodium perborate). It seems to work fairly well.

For things I want to stay as absorbent as possible, I'll use plain white vinegar in the softener compartment. For other stuff, I dilute a generic softener (Kirkland if I can get it) 50/50 with water and use that. Undiluted it tends to muck up the dispenser.

I use Seventh Generation Lavender laundry detergent or Everspring Lavender laundry detergent.

For dish washing I buy Seventh Generation dish soap and dishwasher detergent.

Well, just made a Costco run and amazingly no line!

But they didn't have any Persil liquid or powder. Nada. I suppose Walmart might have it, but I'd rather not go there. Meanwhile the Tide liquid HE works well enough. And I have more enough of that to last a while - found an old spouted jug of it in the garage, too.

Still using STPP at the start of the cycle, though. Doesn't seem to hurt a bit, and probably keeps the gunk away.

In the dishwasher we're currently using the Kirkland Signature tabs and they are every bit as good as the Cascade with Dawn and the Cascade with Clorox we last used.

I use Persil two in One for my laundry. I like the mild scent. My partner, the washing machine killer lol always buy a Tide product. I think he sas the Tide with Oxi one at the moment. Too stinky for my liking, I tried it on a load.

Other than the scent I see no difference in their performance, then our clothes et are never all that dirty or stained.

Washer: Tide with Bleach powder for everything. I do have a bottle of A&H for delicates. The powder is so powerful. Just a tablespoon in my GE front loader does a full load. 2 tbs if I'm doing whites.

Dishwashing. Amway tablets. I am very impressed with them so far.
