Small Appliances on your Counters

Reading the thread about "kitchen gadgets you shouldn't buy" got me to wondering what small appliances everyone keeps on their counters on a permanent basis?  If I had more counter space I would probably have more but here is what I have.

 

1.  Cuisinart toaster oven

2.  Cuisinart rechargeable salt & pepper shakers

3.  Iced Tea maker

4.  Kitchen-Aid toaster

1) Kitchenaid pro series mixer
2) Hamilton Beach toaster
3) Ice tea maker
4) Water purifier dispenser (the inverted jug type)

Not a whole lot.

I have a sunbeam toaster, frying pan, egg cooker, waffle iron and corn popper in the pantry as well as couple more mixers that come out accasionally.

In my 85 year-old kitchen which still retains its original configuration, counter space is seriously lacking so I have very few things out.

Gaggio Super Automatic espresso machine (i'm kind of about my coffee)

And assorted other things like my Meauring spoon collection and a couple of crocks one for wooden spoons and the other for spatulas.

For me it is:

a MixMaster model 12(currently chrome but I rotate all color variations)

aProctor-Silex can opener(unfortunetly new plastique crap)

a Kenmore Elite 2 cu ft microwave oven(still mis the od JCPenney)

a Blender(currently a Lady Kenmore 600, but I rotate it with a Oster classic VII and a 50th anniversary gold plate Oster)

a coffee percolator(currently a Corning Electromatic, but it too rotates)

In my kitchen I have: a very small dustbin on the counter, a GE food processor,(2nd. I have, the previous lasted 14 years), a Kenwood induction plate (for 1 pot)a Fagor drip coffee maker, a Fagor coffee grinder, a T-Fal (Seb, french)toaster, a Seb electric Fryer, 2 more cheap coffee makers, a Samsung Microwave, a Philips percolator, a Sony radio-discplayer, and a Siemens electric fan Heater (for buck up in cold mornings). And some other things on the upper racks which I use sparingly. And one thing which is actually over the counter, a Whirpool dishwasher for 8 services. This is an over-the-counter model. Gus

I feel as if I should go and get more things out of the cupboard reading this.

In view:

- Sunbeam Mixmaster MXG in white with mixing light/black stand with turntable lever on the side

- Russell Hobbs brushed stainless steel kettle.

- Sharp Carosel sensor cook microwave.

Also on the bench, but in their own lit 'breakfast cupboard'...

- Sunbeam Toastermatic 2 (TA4100) - Released by Sunbeam Australia in 2001 and sold for about 3 years. Bread slots are across the toaster rather than 'front to rear'. I have a new in box spare too.

- Aldi Expressi coffee maker.

Other appliances (my parents' avocado-colored CrockPot, KitchenAid KFP-700 food processor, Waring blender, rice cooker, and Sunbeam bread machine) are stored on metal shelving in the adjacent mudroom.

My kitchen used to be strewn with applicances but since I had it rebuilt, I have gone very minimal:

Kenwood Chef
Bosch Kettle
Bosch Toaster
Braun Coffee Maker

That's it

Inside the cupboards is a different story!

Paul which Bosch toaster and Kettle you got? Im rather fond of the basic Private collection stuff in the red blue and black colour ways.

Here I have,

Bosch Tassimo - shoot me down but it works for me and my needs.

RH Harvest Kettle - BNIB find late 80's.

Kenwood electric can opener,

el Cheapo cookworks chrome toaster cos Im not that daring when it comes to plugging in the BNNB Proctor Silex 50's toaster although im assured it will be ok. LOL

Panasonic COmbi Microwave. Thats it apart from what I have on the shelving LOL.

Now that is an interesting shelf! Not only a vintage Kenwood Chef, but also some vintage Philips stuff. IIRC the standmixer is quite noisy. The handmixer with the open handle was sold here as a Ruton IIRC, not as a Philips. The Philips handmixers overhere all had a closed handle. At least as far as I remember.

And then there is that Krups mixer in the fantastic orange/yellow color. I love that color! They had more appliances in that color, loved them all!
