Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I need to figure out how to do this to my Affinity. I just crammed in a load of shorts and tee shirts today and was appalled at how little water that machine thought was adequate. It's very rare that I don't have to add more. I am currently adding water manually via 100 oz liquid Tide container, and some loads require filling four of those babies up and dumping them in. It would sure be a lot easier if I could just get the machine to use at least enough water to come up into the bezel and not compromise the spider thingy.

Jon your good ! boy the talent in this club...well i can't wait to see the video thanks for posting.
Now it should take a little longer for to heat up ...if it is not timed heat.

Updated Mine

I just completed updating mine. I didn't go 2 full turns though. I raised the water level to right at the lower edge of the door. Got a load of sheets washing now. The sloshing sound is much more noticable than before. I'll run this way for a week or two and guage performance. Thanks for posting the instructions.

Water Level

My water level is just below where the boot meets the glass. Only did a load of sheets last night. But the second rinse was pretty clear of an detergent residue. Third rinse was probably not necessary.

Spider Damage

OK, I've read a lot about how easily the spider can be ruined on FL machines. Is it just a sudsing issue and not a water level issue? If that's the case, I will definitely want to increase the water level on my Affinity. The factory settings are absolutely inadequate, and I'm tired of adding water manually in order to effect decent laundering results.

Dr. Frigidaire

I'm very impressed by your prowess to trick a new machine like that. I imagine it raises all the levels across the board including wash. Wonder if there's a way to keep the wash level low but the rinses high up the glass?
