It's been awhile and i have been checking CL to no avail, it would be nice if we could have a new thread of vids and pics, of solid tub machines. It's the end of winter, maybe some banging solenoids and overflow rinsing would give everybody a lift. Thanks arthur/alr2903

Suds Return
I always wanted to see the suds return cycle in a solid tub washer. I've seen them in perforated tubs, where it agitates as the suds come in through the bottom, but I've never seen how it works in a solid tub. I figure the suds must have to come in over the top of the tub.

Hey Gary, I have a solid tub machine with suds saver system that I am almost finished with. The suds return port does come from above the top of the solid tub. The machine should be ready for it's first wash this weekend. I will post some pixs within the next week or so.

Friends had a Frigidasire with suds saver. When the return was activated a separate electric pump filled the tub through a flume that directed the water into the tub. No drama. As I remember the timer had to be manually moved the wash section for the cycle to continue.

As far as I know
the return is automatic, with no need to manually move the timer and operated during the fill portion of the cycle. It takes 4 minutes to return the suds to match the usual fresh water 4 minute fill time; hence, the weak small slow pump. The return is selected on the Wash Temp Control: "Hot- Warm- Cold- Suds Water Saver" were the readings on Aunt Ellen's Mid -60's Multimatic.
Rick's new beauty looks like it works the same way, although his has a separate control. Can't wait to find out.
Ditto, Kelly, no drama! No agitation, cool noises, etc., nothing like the excitement of a WP/KM.
I'll have pix soon of a few solid tubs.
