aegokarat....yes, it does sometimes leave things smelling damp if I dont set the time for long enough - I wonder if its because the condenser is dirty or something?

Well, I have, as you can imagine, used all the cycles - the woolen/handwash cycle has a half way up the door water level, then it sits and "static heats", just like the old Hoovers used to do. you can actually hear the heater running too, again, like the old Hoovers. its fab. very little agitation during the cycle, 3 rinses, then a very short final spin at 800 RPM. I am impressed with the final 1400rpm spin on the other cycles - it does two short bursts at around 400 rpm, then it ramps up to 800 rpm where it sits for 6 minutes then it jumps straight to 1400 rpm, where it sits for 6 minutes. no messing, no fuss, just spinning! The quick was also has a 1400 RPM spin at the end, which most other machines dont seem to do.
Optima...thanks very much! as mentioned to mike (above) the washing machine really is great - really decent cycle times too (all adjust to the size of the load) and a quick wash that ranges from 26 minutes for cold, up to 54 minutes for 95*c - all with a 1400 spin at the end.
The Heavy cycle rinses 7 times, others do a max of 4, depending on the load size. The dishwasher is getting on really well, only used it a couple of times but its been great every single time I have used it - used the "eco" cycle last night, which is the energy programme used for its A/A/A rating - as suspected, faultless! The sensor cycle is also very good
Frigilux.....thank you! The washing machine is made by Asko, the instruction manual tells you as much, in so much as it says "you have bought a quality sweedish product, made in Sweeden" def money well spent
dj - yes, it is a ceraminc radiant top - relatively controlable, as oppose to those awful solid plate style ones you can get!
