When I moved to LA, I was on the hunt for a dining table/chairs of a scale appropriate for an apartment (easier said than done). One I found was the one I purchased at IKEA, which had a choice of beige or red fabric on the seats. I chose red and have not looked back. There's a fair bit of red in this house and I'm really enjoying it.

Please bear with me as you look at the first picture, as I don't at this time have a pink triangle cookie jar to pose with this new percolator (LOL). I just learned these existed recently per Gadget Gary's post, and now I have one! It makes great coffee. Note the toaster cover as well; I have a matching mixer cover on its way.

On to the mixer then: this is a Montgomery Ward interpretation of a Sunbeam Mixmaster, circa approximately 1970. One of my aunts on my dad's side had this one, I'm pretty sure I was with her when she bought it. The bowl switch is in front, the beater ejector is the pushbutton variety, and the motor housing surrounds the mixfinder dial on this model, and you have a thumbswitch for moving it (you can see the round dial if you look underneath). It has the newer style detachable cord. The labels for each speed are identical to the Sunbeam. Oddly, there are markings for "juicing" and "attachments", like the Sunbeam, even though this model has no attachment port. It works great! I have a model 10 Sunbeam that I had been using, but it developed that famous old mixmaster malady of only running on high speed. I'm going to send it off to be overhauled since I really like it.

Oh Scott.....what a nice tribute....

I am so glad that I touched your life with my coffeemaker posts....It makes me feel so good to have made that impact from some simple postings.

I have been asked to continue posting my collection...Just did not want to overwhelm everyone.

BTW....My Corning Ware pot is also new and unused.

Gary, do you have any knowledge or guess as to the age of these? The seller had 1967 in the auction, but I don't see anything indicating that on the box or in the paperwork, unless she was the original owner. I do know that the original price was $12.99! :-)

Scott, great stuff, and excellent color choice by the way! The possiblities are endless...now I know why you want a red promo Convertible so much! Love that Corning "see-thru" percolator; looks just like a toy in my opinion! Would probably go along great with a vintage red lunchbox/thermos set! ;-)

The Montgomery Ward mixer is very cool as well. I have another 1970's version which is basically a re-labeled Mixmaster, in gold with a dark chocolate brown handle and base. Will have to get it out and post a picture.

I remember that one from Wards, Austin. I think it says Montgomery Ward instead of Signature. In fact, I think the one I just got is probably the last that was designed specifically for Wards rather than rebadged. I'll be interesetd to learn if yours has the juicer port and handle twist ejector, or is the type with the pushbutton ejector where the juicer port usually is.

Nice stuff, Scott! I don't recall seeing that mixer before. It has a really pleasing shape.

I like the vintage Dixie cups, too; nice touch!

Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Nice banana hanger you got there...;)

Gary, do you have any knowledge or guess as to the age of th

I really have no idea of the age, but would guess late 60's or early 70's because of the orange color.

Enjoy it Scott~!

Scott I love that coffeemaker. Talked to Roger and he sure doesn't remember those either. Does it make good coffee? Terry

Terry it makes wonderful coffee! I like this one especially for the retro mod design and that it matches my kitchen so well, and I really do think the coffee tastes good brewed in glass.

I remember those too Gary, both the urns, and the colored 8 cup "Poly Perks". I was looking for other types of red percolators as well which is how I lucked into running into this one!

Very cool Gary! That's the first I've seen with that design. Usually they had stars. These were very popular!
