Some progress on the Westy L5

I've not been spending a lot of time down at the house in Ogden lately so I was really glad to have some time to work on the Westy.
Chris, thank you once again for the service manual - it is a huge help and very much appreciated!
So, using the instructions, I popped the tub out of the cabinet...

Much to hubby's dismay, Westy and parts thereof are spreading around the garage... I figure it's not going to snow now, so he can park the car outside safely!
I still have my work cut out for me; I still haven't determined if the changer is any good or not, but I have some great information on how they work now. I still haven't tracked down the door boot - I just need to start chasing some appliance parts dealers on that. The timer is 'in the shop' and I am really hoping the motor can be repaired or replaced.

Paint question

I'd like to repaint the cabinet of this washer - since it's all apart I figured this is good time to do this.
Should I even think about trying to do this myself or should I find an auto body painter (like Rick did)??

Does it use this type of motor? This came out of a westing house.

Consider getting the cabinet powder coated if you want to paint it. It holds up better and last longer than automotive paint. Much to my surprise, I found out it was also cheaper.

That looks very familar! The one in your photo looks like the motor for sure, but the pump housing looks pretty <modern>.

Dan - thanks for the tip about the powder coating! Who does that sort of thing or can you do it yourself??

WOW LOOKS LIKE YOUR GONNA GET THERE. JUST TAKE YOUR TIME. SO HOW IS THE PUMP AND CHANGER COMMING ALONG? YA KNOW MAYBE IM NOT THE BEST WITH PAINT BUT I SAND EM DOWN USE AUTO PRIMER AND THEN WHITE EPOXY. WORKS FOR ME. KEEP ME POSTED
