Something good i did today

Hi Guys
Well today i did something i love doing, bike riding.
Over the past few months me and my friends have been building this Super Bike lol, its basically two bikes welded together, allowing two riders at once. We then decorated it to make it look like a Roman Chariot. We made our helmets into roman helmets and we made a roman standard to go on the back.
Was all with the intention of entering into the Freeway Bike Hike that is held here in Perth every year. Its basically where people can enter on their bikes and ride 30 kilometres up the Mitchell Freeway. The event is in order to raise money for the Athsma Foundation of Australia as all the members of our crew of friends either have suffered or do suffer with Athsma.
The event was a huge success and we as a group collected $790 in sponsers and that all went to the Athsma Foundation.
I rode in the middle of the journey but we go pics of the chariot leaving the start and reaching the finish. Id like to share those with u as it was a big effort and something we feel very proud of.

I'm far right ,leaning on Ben, he was our main rider along with Stephen who is wearing a helmet. Not the best pic of me, was hot and tired lol.

Noone else had entered with a bike as obscure as ours so we got a lot of cheering and applause, plus an appearance on national news and the papers tomorrow.

And reaching the finish line, a great effort by everyone involved. Stacy was our support vehicle (on the left)and was there to help if anything went wrong.

and us afterwards in the pool. It was a sweltering day so it was well deserved. 41 degrees celcius, very hot.

I don't know what 41C equals, but it sounds awfully hot. Glad there was that pool to make use of afterwards!

Yikes! I just checked! According to the United States' National Weather Service, 41 degrees C equals 105.8 degrees F. Ouch! That's hot.

41, no thanks, I'll be staying inside thank-you very much. I don't do heat well at all and start sweating profusely at about 25. Swore I'd never move back here after leaving 30 years ago because of the dreadful hot and humid summers and now I'm back. I just hope that Mr.Slim here in this house works!!!

Congrtulations on a great ride and fund raising. I love the bike, was it hard to ride? I have heard that tandem bikes(bicycle built for two) are difficult to ride as well as the big three wheeled one. I have done a few charity rides of 100 miles for the lung associtation here in the US. It was a lot of fun riding, but was in early May here so it was not as hot. Right now I wish it was 100 degrees in Pennsylvania and get rid of the snow. Can't wait to get the bike out and be in the pool again.

Mr. Slim

is a split ductless air conditioning system. They had them in a couple of the places we stayed in Costa Rica. I've never seen one here in the US, I think they're pretty popular in places where central air isn't as common. The ones we used in Costa Rica worked quite well.
