Re: Safety Starts:

Hi! jaxsunst the first at least Kenmore Dryer to have the Safety Start Push-Button was either 1965 or 1966, unless they had started using them in late 1964. I would assume that the Whirlpool Dryers also had them at that time as well, but even though both are basically one in the same, Whirlpool might have not included the Safety Start Push-Buttons until before or after the Kenmore Dryers.

Now for Cory, Cadman I've never seen a Speed Queen Washer or Dryer with a Turquoise Control Panel or even that Style of Controls, what year are theses?

1961 Kenmore Gas Dryer

Here is a photo of a Kenmore Dryer I saved from the trash. It has a lighted control panel but since it does not say "Lady Kenmore" I know it is not TOL. Does anyone know where this unit fell in the lineup of 1961 offerings?

Steve, good question on the year of the SQ. This came up at one point and my mind is a blank. Maybe someone else will chime in?

It is one of their nicest panels IMHO. Attached are a couple shots of the washer-

Speed Queen!

This above Speed Queen was the exact same one my Grandmother had. I liked it and it washed very well. I just didn't like the loud seloinoid bangs!

ok, here we go....

Cadman: I have the same year as your washer, except mine is one model down from yours(model 600)with straight vane.

Spinout: you have the matching dryer to my 63 Kenmore washer600, except, my dryer is 1964 model 70. Timer dial is exactly the same. control panel on mine is slightly different.
