last night i was thinking why cant somebody invent a tl washer
with up and doun ageatation but with an ajustable speed control
wicth controls the ageation speed

Hotpoint at one time had a infinatly variable speed washer, but it had conventional agitation.

Actually GE, Hotpoint, and Frigidaire all made infinately variable washer speeds in the form of a variable clutch. I have one of the GE washers, known as a Versatronic. There may have been others that made them too, but those are the only ones I have yet seen..........

Apparently the Hotpoint version actually had a variable speed motor, or so I seem to remember reading in a thread on here a long time ago.
