How does one remove the top of this machine? I'd really like to poke around and see what makes mine tick, or at least marvel at the engineering! Thanks!

There are screws at the top back of the control panel that allow you to remove the top of the control panel. I went in there when I adjusted the water level. Maybe you will find something at the bottom of the control panel area. Maybe there are screws on the back that hold the top down. Sorry I don't know more.

Removing the top of a SQ FL Washer
You first remove the lower front, then remove the upper front panel [ two screws at the bottom of both front panels ] and then you remove two more 5/16" hex head screws and the top panel lifts at the front, hope this helps, John
