Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Good News

That kind of news is what we need more of - Good News!  Especially glad for the corporation and the future employees.   When you hear good news about a company like Alliance who makes Speed Queen, that has a reputation for quality, kind of makes you want to go buy one just to support and help them realize their goals.  Good to see American pride and ingenuity still thriving in a world of cheap, wanna be, short lifed, BS products.  Thanks for sharing.

Alliance................

is a great company! Glad to see that they are expanding!

Less than 10%

I thought that I read that their domestic sales were less than 10% of their revenue.  Wonder if that has changed over the past couple of years.

I think if Speed Queen advertized in the right market, they could sell tons of their top loader traditional machines. As far as I can tell, they are the only company left that makes them. I never knew much about them until I researched them online and read more about them on this site.

People around here look at you like you're crazy when you meniton Speed Queen. There is only 1 dealer here who sells them-- and they only started selling them in the last year or so. And we aren't a tiny city-- about 250,000. Its easier to find them in the really small towns around us.

Speed Queen was a very popular washing machine back in the 50's. I seem to remember advertising for them when I was a kid. Ask someone old if they ever heard of Speed Queen before. Chances are they have.

Its great to hear an American company expanding

and not closing their doors or laying off workers.

I still have that noise - in fact it does it all the time now - not getting worse, not going away - I still would not give up my SQ. My clothes are coming out cleaner than my Kenmore. I do miss having a buzzer when the cycle ends cause its so quiet! There has much going on around here that I didnt take the time to call SQ HQ to talk to the tech department about the noise. Plus I would like to find someone to come that actually KNOWS the machine. I got the feeling that the guy that came was looking to make some $ doing a bearing job.
