haven't done a thread in a while so here goes! got my speed queen washer back together this past march, bought it back in late 2010! just now posting it! been a busy summer!

here it is in the jeep after getting it that day from indianapolis. i still had a soft top on my car back then and remember what a cold day it was!

pic from back of machine

showing pump and motor and rusty bottom when i first got it.

a few coats of rusty metal primer did wonders to this area! and all 3 belts were fine and able to be used! at least they are fine now! hopefully if they break i can find more!

of drain pump.

this pump is fine and has no leaks although i did have to get a pump gasket for it. luckily i found the gasket at partselect.com. it was one of the few parts they still carried for this washer!

pump is

out.

don't like the look of that output port. pretty chewed! it will eventually erode away to the point where a hose will not fit on.

gave it about 10 coats of primer, inside and out! and i'm only using this washer for fun about once a month.

here is the metered fill

container after i removed it from washer. water runs into it, filling it up till it activates the variable fill pressure switch on the control panel just like a perforated tub washer uses.

a small tube runs from this control panel switch down to this container.

water enters this container at the top left thru that funnel shaped entrance port.

when the washer

drains this solonoid kicks in opening a small drain flapper on the bottom of this container, draining it into the outer tub of the washer.

this flapper valve was clogged with sediment causing it not to seat, hence keeping the metering container from fill up during fills, stopping washer from going in it's wash phase no matter how long it filled!

this was easily cleaned and it now works perfectly!

here it is mounted back on the

left back side of the washer after i did the cleaning and painting of the machine this spring.

you can see the outer tub has been painted and also note the small drain hose on the bottom that drains this container into the outer tub during drain/spin phases.
