SPEED QUEEN SOLID TUB WASHER UP AND RUNNING!

haven't done a thread in a while so here goes! got my speed queen washer back together this past march, bought it back in late 2010! just now posting it! been a busy summer!

here it is in the jeep after getting it that day from indianapolis. i still had a soft top on my car back then and remember what a cold day it was!

had to rig a special puller

out of chain and wood to pull agitator out of tub.

i remember a cousin had one of these washers back in 1976 and i loved it then too!

the lid switch arm is pretty

rusted. i coated it with rusty metal primer and simply bypassed it when i put machine back together.

it will eventually rust all

the way out again i am sure.

this one has a ring of concrete on the top of the inner solid tub.

pump before i took it off and did anything to machine.

this one has 3 belts.

motor goes directly into

a fluid clutch and then spin is fed from this clutch via it's own belt.

and feeding spin pulley.

bottom 2 belts turn drain pump and transmission for agitation.

a few coats of rusty metal primer did wonders to this area! and all 3 belts were fine and able to be used! at least they are fine now! hopefully if they break i can find more!

this pump is fine and has no leaks although i did have to get a pump gasket for it. luckily i found the gasket at partselect.com. it was one of the few parts they still carried for this washer!

don't like the look of that output port. pretty chewed! it will eventually erode away to the point where a hose will not fit on.

gave it about 10 coats of primer, inside and out! and i'm only using this washer for fun about once a month.
