Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

The belts don't show any signs of wear, which is a little suprising, I expected some wear or at least some belt dust...

Ironic, they are from a Military base less than an hour from me(McGuire Airforce Base), but Caleco is a little over 1 1/2 hour ride one way into Pennsylvania, they have a contract with the military and other Laundries in the Mid-Atlantic region, still worth the trip, You can't beat $25.00 a piece, I am going back soon, a few friends and myself want a few more, I'm going to get a double stack dryer.....Were in the process of changing over to solar power, so I want to be ready with electric dryers and putting the gas ones on the back burner, so to speak....

but anywho, he has a lot of coin operated machines as well, these machines are only in service for the warranty period, 5 years, and then put up for sale, there were over 300 machines to pick from, all the same model, in the back corner was about 20 or so machines to bad to sell, these will be dismantled, many parts are stacked neatly and organized on tall shelves across the warehouse, if a machine in service broke down, they would just take a replacement and exchange it, bring it back to the warehouse for SQ service, or repair it themselves, seems win win for these guys.....

I'm taking a camera for the museum next time, and if allowed, I will take ones of the warehouse also, my mouth was hitting the ground the whole time I was there, pure amazement, like a kid in a candy store....

You do have to call in advance before going, I am going to ask about agitators and caps for some of the guys in case they can't get them on-line

Chill Mike

I know the excitement.....but do let me know if you got them...

also can you measure your agitator top to bottom?....just curious if it is the same size.....thanks

Thanks Mike

I wish they made the fins a little larger, thats a big tub of clothes it has to move, if they used the same design as the solid tub agitators, can you imagine the wash action, thats what I love about the solid tubs I have, only three vanes, but with the 210degree stroke, its the splash up that is created, heavy loads don't have a chance, now you got me thinking of a way to get one of these mounted to try it out....

I am thinking that they reduced the height of the vane because maybe the transmission couldnt handle it. You know how some people put a Maytag PowerFin Agitator into an orbital drive Maytag washer and the turbulance one gets but someone said that the larger vanes put a huge strain on the transmission..thats why they have the smaller vanes for the LoadSensor and PowerFlex 12 agitator. But I am wondering as well..are you going to make a FrankenAgitator mating the base of the FlexVane with the SQ HighVane agitator....cant wait to see your work doctor...

Mike

we think too much alike....lol....

but thats what I was figuring, they said it could not be done with a Maytag helical I have, but I did, I used the base of a loadsensor, and slid several agitators over top and a few small screws held it in place.....GE's roto-swirl worked best

Can you imagine a roto-swirl with a 210 degree stroke?

doctor at work...more like evil scientist...lol...there is no method to my madness.......like Wile E. Coyote, supergenious!
give me an ACME catalog, and pipe full of fun kit number 7, and I am on my way....yeah, right off the cliff>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now I cant wait to see which UPS man delivers my goodies from Sears...there is one that comes here every so often he has got to be a body builder..freakin arms on him and an adorable face to match and fur..he had his shirt open...so yes Martin you could say..we do think alike! I maybe chained to the fence, but I still like to bark for attention!...now back to our program.

We have a military base in Millington out side of Memphis how could I go about finding out if there is someone that sells off their washers I am sure that they use the same one that you are getting. I need to get a back up washer because my Samsung is giving me trouble and these sound like a great deal and Speed Queens are hard to get here I got my mother one and she loves it I just can not afford 500.00 dollars on a washer at this time.

Mike

You hit the nail on the head......I have a hot UPS guy too, and chained to fence is correct.....but what else can you do to a bear other than bark, its good for their self esteem.....lol....more on this later

I found these machines on craigslist, then when I called is how I found out where they came from.....but you could probably go to the military base and find out who supplies the laundry on base, they also supply laundromats....they contract this stuff out to a supplier, somebody has to be doing it

You could also go to Speed Queens commercial retail locator on the website and see who the laundromat servicer is in Memphis...might be good starting to point. They may only sale new, but know where the old ones go.

Looks like the agitator has shipped - anyone else received theirs yet? Caps are still B/O with an avail of tomorrow.

I got an e-mail saying they were sorry stuff was backordered (7 days later). Oddly though, I clicked on the order status and one had shipped--guess I'll get a notice 7 days from now that it has shipped (and after I received it). Ridiculous. I guess their online business must match their brick-n-mortar business in lack of efficiency. :(
