Dan- Thanks for all the videos...they were great

Does everyone have everything they ordered?.....just making sure....

can't believe the turnover difference......and yet wonder why its about an inch shorter than the power flex?

not to mention the price differences between model numbers.....I may have to check this on other manufacturers machines that I have....like Whirlpool and GE FF...

You know, I was thinking, considering the typical 9 minute wash times in laundromats, plus God knows what people cram in there, might explain the aggressiveness of the agitator design. I know when I first considered SQ, I took a full size fluffy comforter, put it in an old 2.8 cf top loader at the 70s laundromat and checked several times throughout the cycle--had no problem turning it over...I was sold.

If this smaller vane agitator moves a big load with aggression....think how the solid tubs kick ass when it comes to cleaning, 3 wider vanes, and a smaller tub....I have 2 solid tubs, and if your washing anything but a full load, you are not keeping the lid open, you WILL be soaked....but even a full load has the water splashing straight up from the agitators 210 degree stroke, I have never seen any other machine do that, with exception to a Kelvinator....

I was thinking the same thing. In order to properly accommodate a full load in a short wash period, the action needs to be kicked up a notch.

Even with the flex vane I had to realize this. I had always been the "put it on the longest cycle to makes sure it's clean" kinda dude until I started learning with the SQ. My WP goes into gentle agitation the last 6 mins I believe of it's cycle--the SQ does not of course, so it took me a while to get use to washing things on the "regular" wash cycle of approx 9 minutes, but always have great results...I rarely use anything but that now.

I also learned that you have to use gentle agitation (and full tub of water) with throw rugs--or else it becomes a slosh fest with the long stroke agitation!

Agitator/Cap

Count me in - for joining the just ordered agitator/cap club too. Taking my chances with Sears so I'll see how it goes. I couldn't say no to the price! Love your videos DanManTN! The way the short solid vane performs reminds me so much of the old solid tub stainless steel three vane models of yesteryear! Love the tub of water rocking back and forth. Wonderful turnover on those towels. As good as the flex vane is, I think I'm sold on the solid vane!

BTW, just ordered a new ADG4BR and it should be here by the end of the month. Decided not to get the HG7009L repaired since it gave us 26 years of faithful service.

Hey Guys...........remember a few post back I was commenting on the water comming out of the flume sometimes dribbling....

well, I changed out a few water valves to see if there was a difference.....and water flow did increase a little, but depended on water pressure from the pump, which is usually high, but when it gets down to about 50 lbs it dribbles on the hot side, and sometimes on the cold as well....warm has the best flow......

well, I followed the routes from water line to flume, to see if there was a restrictor of some sort in line......and found out when I took off the top splash shield to look at the flume from underneath....theres my cause, it flows water out the front and out the back behind the inner tub.....I used silicone and pluggd up the rear one, and now I have full force waterfall pressure into the tub......although some may argue that this rinses the outter tub during the spray rinse, but I'll take my chances, I rather see the full waterfall.....
just wish I could find a way to make it aireate like the solid tubs......that will be my next project.....

theres a method to my madness.....lol

Did Amana sell a rebadged version of this machine in the 90's? They look very similar one my aunt owned.
