I recently spray painted the bulkhead on a Kenmore Dryer from 1971, using the Whirlpool Grey Spray Paint (Part #350938). I sanded it down first, and also in between coats. I know from reading other posts in the past that it's not really recommended, but I wanted to give it a try. This dryer will not be used much, maybe one load a week. I am really curious to see how long it will last. I don't have a very good before picture of the whole thing, so I posted a few.

Repainted WP Dryer Bulkhead

It looks good I have done this many times, I usually just let it dry over night and then reassemble the dryer and run the machine on high heat to bake the finish for a while and then let it rest. Heating the finish is MUCH faster than letting it air dry for a few weeks, just like they do when painting cars.
