Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Getting Parts For Newer SQs

There is probably no reason to buy any parts now for these machines,

This W&D are so reliable that unless you are doing more than 10 loads a week it is very likley that they will require NO SERVICE for more than a decade.

And the parts you are eventually going to need will be readily available for more than 20 years.

If you were willing to stash parts so you could repair the machines instantly and did not care that you would be spending several hundred on parts that 70% of would never be used I would get the following parts for the washer.

A belt, an inlet valve, a timer, a water pump and maybe a spare motor.

For the dryer, A belt ,a set of rear rollers and a timer, and again maybe a motor.

Lorainfurniture, your link is not working for me at all.

John, lol, I just figured I get a belt or two and I would like the rubber feet that the previous owner decided to dispose of. I guess I'm twitchy from my last machine where I never knew if it would work or start laughing at me.

The only thing the washer may end up needing within 10 years is the belt and possibly the pump. I know the dryer will need those rollers and belt after about 10 years, that I know from personal experience since those haven't really changed much since the Amana days. Can't speak for the Amana washers since the SQ's have been heavily redesigned since that era. I've only had my SQ for 3 years so it's too new for anything routine to go wrong with it.
