NickUk, Yes the one in Somerset is not far from me but I have to pay to get back into Wales lol. Looks a nice machine. I've not really considered one of those before. Its good som many vintage machines are popping up on ebay and in good condition mainly.

Well, I got it

Thanks for all your responses.

Lucky me!

I just won this machine and the service manual which goes with it. I'm looking forwards to the restoration. I'll post some video when I've taken delivery of the machine and got it running, you may have to wait a week or two (or longer if it's not in an operational condition). For now here is a close up of the control panel which the seller kindly sent me.

Regards

Nick

Congratulations!!!

Well done Nick on your first vintage machine....now the fun starts, these are easy machines to work on with so many spares still around...

I`m amazed how many of these machines have"Stickers" still on them..the Hoover Keymatic from the 70`s also has the original Persil stickers on I picked up a few months ago.

That 1000 rpm spin speed whooshes up to top speed like a jet engine. Yet Hotpoint first introduced an 1100 spin front loader (pic below) in 1969 and then dropped backed to 800 with the purples etc..

Enjoy, Mike

p.s. the purple Hotpoints arnt mine....Yet...still looking.
