Out of curiosity I picked up a Bissell version of these products, and I guess I'm not impressed. Not sure of the point. Came across one on clearance got it for $18 and odds are will return it, certainly would not pay the original $70.
Reading the directions it states to "sanitize" a surface it needs to be in place for 15 seconds, but not more than 20. Trying to do an entire floor that way would be absurd. I see it as a step down from an old sponge mop, at least the mop was dunked in water and wrung out getting some of the dirt out of it, with the steam cleaner the pad is drug over the whole floor.
Am I missing something?
Over the years I've had 3 of the original and best Hoover Floormatics, the one with dual tanks and good stiff scrub brushes. I now have the latest spin brush version, it does a decent job but not as good as the original. Plus I had the first spin brush Floormatic that self destructed after 3 or 4 years of use. I also have the Scooba, but have not used it in some time, might resurrect it. I've also had the Dirt Devil mop with the vacuum both versions, battery and electric, it did a fair job, easier than dragging out the original Hoovers. Wow, looking at that list I've had a LOT of floor care machines, not to mention the requite sponge mop...
