Storing Unused Vacuum Cleaner Belts

I saw a video on YouTube today that mentioned storing unused vacuum cleaner belts in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator to make them last longer.

True or False???

I'd seal them in a ziplock bag and store them in a cool dark drawer.

I have mine in a shoebox under the bed.

Have a Strong or Potts film platter? They use vacuum belts on the outside of the wheels that drive the underside of the platters.

with digital projectors----sadly those Strong,Potts and other platters are going to the scrappers.Yes,have heard about vacuum belts being used to drive them-the platter disc from the motor.Now with digital projectors in theater projection rooms-folks will now wonder what the big box of vacuum cleaner belts was for???save them for the janitors vacuum cleaner at that point.they would then be used on a vacuum cleaner instead of the film feed-takeup platter machine.Go to Film Tech and they show depressing pictures of dismantled projectors and platters at the scrapyard!SAD!!

I have shoe boxes under my bed that I store bags and belts in; Kirby bags and Belts together, and the same for other brands, then I label them so I can find everything quite easily. This big house has lousy storage, LOL

The shoe boxes under the bed is fine, but the belts should also be in plastic bags so they don't dry out.

For the vacuum cleaner belts to cleaners in my collection-use them fast enough so no worries about them drying out.
