dishmaster faucet
OMG Scott, I didn't know they still made those faucets!! How cool is that!
I have really enjoyed reading this thread and seeing to other people's ideas and habits.
My mom got her first DW in 1982, a TOL Maytag, the all pushbutton model. It cost $600! We'd never had a DW before so we weren't quite sure what to do with it, but somewhere was the notion that it should run once a day.
Problem was even a family of 4 was not filling it up every day, and mom could not stand the thought of dirty dishes sitting around, even if they could not be seen. Mom reasoned if we didn't have enough dirty dishes to run the DW every day, that it was useless, and she could "wash everything myself faster" She also seemed to think the DW was a HUGE water-hog
Result: That DW saw little use, save for Holidays. It quietly perished in 2003 from a stuck timer, replaced by another Maytag.
The new DW gets used... mom just turned 83 a couple of weeks ago, as we were loading the DW on Christmas day she wondered aloud how she'd ever went so long without a DW, because its so easy to just toss everything in and have it come out clean...
