We're having a good old fashioned BLIZZARD here...
These pics were snapped with my cell phone this afternoon about 3pm driving home from work on Golf Rd...UGH!!!

Stopped for a light at the Woodfield Mall entrance in Schaum

I don't even think the plows have been out!
As of 8:10pm its still coming down!

Br-r-r-r-r-r-r!

Jeff:

You're gonna need a major thaw-out in Tucson after all this is over!!

Stay warm - have a hot toddy!!

BRRRR is right!

Its still snowing, and the wind is HOWLING!
Who's Toddy?? How about a Hot Michael instead?

I am thankful it is the middle of February, at least this stuff won't be around for long anyway.
I am hoping its going to be REALLY warm in Tucson!

Yep, I heard that....it's snowing up here too...

According to the news, we are all going to die.

(I'm exaggerating, but not much, LOL!)

Safe home to all!

I agree with Steve!! It has been beautiful here, we did have a brief thunder storm today with an inch of rain but then it cleared and was great. 76 for our high today. Please be safe and take plenty of extra time getting around.

A combo of snow, rain and ice here in Fairfield County. Actually not much snow at all, but I decided to work from home today. By the time I clear the driveway, defrost the car and skid to the train station, then tonight have to deal with clearing, defrosting and chopping the ice off the car (did that way too many times and it can take up to an hour), it wasn't worth going in.

Everything around me is closed and schools from Greenwich to Hartford and beyond are closed. So last night to prepare, I stopped at the marked for bread and milk. Don't use much of either, but that seems to be what one does when we have a storm. Who am I to mess with tradition?????

winter in Cologne area

And here?????
Rain.....rain...rain.....
Had some heavy snowing last week but lasted only one day here and about two days up in the mountains and then thawed all again....
Crocus and snowdrops are blooming already here!
It's the warmest winter I've ever seen!
Ralf

I am almost afraid to post this...

however, I must...I got about 7"(of snow...ok have a field day with that one guys)

The sun is out this morning, and in spite of some snow packed roads and drifts the Grand Marquis actually handled itself pretty well yesterday and today.

Oh I can't wait for spring!

Conditions have definitely deterioriated in Bergenfield, NJ, over the last hour or so.....a full-fledged, wind-driven ice storm.

I'd even go so far to say that I wouldn't recommend that anyone drive at all, if at all possible....better to stay wherever you are for the duration, than risk travel. The vehicles just can't hack it, and the streets are virtually devoid of traffic.

Please be very careful....

No school on Tues. or today. I live about 130 miles south of Jeff and we had the same weather. Constant snow yesterday, about 11 inches we had. Today, clear blue skies but the wind is blowing and my drive is almost blown shut, I can't imagine what it is like in the country. I have huge drifts around the house, and the wind is still blowing. I would guess that I will have school tomorrow. Gary

Gary are you a music teacher? I thought you would be since you played the organ - and wouldn't you have a choir practice tonite?

As for Pittsburgh, our situation is bad because it is in layers:

ice
snow
ice
snow
ice
pavement

A real challenge to remove no matter what tool you use. I had to use a pry bar to open my car door.

Ok, well no more driving through Nebraska (btw i slept for about 2 hours in the back seat of the corolla in a rest stop there)Wyoming, or Colorado or any place similar with snow all over the place.. Here's the Corolla with snow mounds in the back ground as tall if not taller than it

Here's out front of my uncles house in Boulder Co with the snow still falling.. This was Tuesday.. I drove monday night through a portion of I-70 in freezing fog and blizzard like conditions, never had driven through it before, but i did it.

HI Neptune, I am currently the counselor at school and teach English and have taught vocal music in the past. I am the organist in a small UMC and have no choir, thank God! What a pain in the _ _ _ that can be. Have fun guys. Gary

Oh yes, the Chicago snow.

I spent a lovely few days in Palm Springs (sunny and 75 degrees), only to come back to Chicago and immediately enjoy A BLIZZARD!
The day after I returned warm and happy in Palm Springs, I had the joy of getting stuck in a snowbank - IN MY DRIVEWAY!
BAH - when I retire it will be to somewhere warm.
I snowblowed my driveway only to have the wind blow the snow right back at me. When I finally went into the house my head was icy and crunchy.
I immediately entered the fetal position with my Palm Springs postcards littered around me.
