I ordered a jug of the jeans wash. And then today got a coupon for $5 off plus free shipping. So I thought I would share the discount code. "5OFFSTUDIO" Don't know if I can share referral links or not, so I won't.

Going to email P&G and see if they'll send me some coupons for the future since I missed out by a day in getting it. Oh well. Enjoy.

The jug arrived today. First impressions is that P&G/Tide finally got a scent that doesn't stink. It was a fairly pleasant scent, just had a nice fresh scent. Not overly floral, not overly sweet, didn't have a chemical smell either. I've got some work jeans that are kinda dirty that I'll wash tonight. With the way that the weather has been clothes have been pretty muddy. I was going to move back to Persil regular, or to Tide powder. I'll give it a go with workout gear as well.

The bottle of Darks and Colors I ordered arrived today. I haven’t tried it yet, but I do like the scent. I agree with ThatRobGuy that the scent is not too floral or chemical smelling. I would describe it as a very fresh and clean scent. I did get a little on my hands, and after thoroughly rinsing them off, the scent still lingers.

First impressions on the product... "m'eh"

The overall scent of it is very nice like I mentioned earlier. Probably the best that P&G has in their liquid line. It is almost citrus like. That being said, it is not a long lasting scent. When I pulled the items out of the drier it was very faint smelling. I'm not big on overly powerful smells (persil power caps were like this when they were new, Gain has always been) so this is a big plus.

The liquid is clear, and somewhat runny. It isn't thick like regular Tide or ERA, more along the lines of a clear fabric softener, or all detergent. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Items when done drying felt extremely soft, almost as if there was a fabric softener added to them, but not every item (the towel was still feeling fairly stiff.) I'm hoping this isn't the case as I threw in some gym gear and would prefer the fabric to not be coated.

Downsides: It cleans just okay. I was hoping for something that would do a great job at washing jeans. It performed adequately, but isn't something that I'll be able to use on anything that is overly soiled.

Target has it staged next to the Woolite, so I'm assuming that is the market that they're going after. I can't see myself buying more of it when I run through this. Cheer cleans better, is cheaper, and is just as fabric friendly.

I wonder if Studio by Tide is just a reincarnation of the Tide Total Care detergent that was discontinued a while ago. I remember it left clothes softer than expected, and I was bummed when it was no longer available.

"I did get a little on my hands, and after thoroughly rinsing them off, the scent still lingers. "

Happens with nearly all liquid format detergents nowadays; at least those with scent.

Between high surfactant content and chemicals added to increase staying power of perfumes used getting stuff off skin can be difficult.

Personally wear gloves when dispensing liquid detergents, especially if having to clean up a spill or drips.

This also explains why even one or two subsequent washes later with a different or unscented detergent one still can detect previous scent.

Cannot tell you how many times have laundered things with unscented products that were previously washed in Tide, Persil or whatever and not only is wash water scented, but first few rinses as well. Even after four or five rinses when things are dried still can detect a whiff of Tide or whatever scented product was used.

It can take several subsequent washes to shift.
