Hi folks,

I've got a whirlpool WT-38001 compact washer that we inherited. It dates back to '94 and up till recently has been working like an absolute charm.

However it recently will no longer progress to the drain/spin parts of the cycle. I assumed it was a pump problem as it wasn't draining, so I opened it all up and to my novice eye the pump appeared totally clear/in a good state. I have also wondered if perhaps it is due to the 'lid closed' switch no longer functioning as I know it's stopping at the part of the cycle where that mechanism must be engaged or it won't continue. Again, there are no glaring visual problems with this either but beyond that my diagnostic expertise is done.

Information online on the model or indeed parts seems to be slim to none, but I did stumble across this forum. Was wondering if anyone here might have any advice at all. Seems a shame to stick it in the bin!

Much appreciated,

Andrew.

I have not tried that no, tomturbo. Great suggestion.

Jeff - that is indeed the model number. Here's the sticker on the machine.

Hi, how did you bypass the lidswitch? I have the same washer at my cottage with the same issue!
