There was a thread a long time ago in which the question was: does the "warm" setting actually heat water. I can say from experience today by mistake my C50 DOES heat the water on the WARM setting. It was by mistake however. I started the Coffeemaster with usual cold water, went away and forgot about it for about 45 minuets. When I returned and found the coffee had never gone to the top, I put my hand on the bottom brewing unit and almost burned my hand on the outside of the unit. Today after these many years of using the coffeemaker I found out the hard way --mine does indeed "heat" the water on the Warm setting.
I remember reading the thread but it was never an issue with me as the coffee is removed after brewing and put into another vessel. It could be that this feature WAS removed at a later date but on mine the "warm" setting does and will keep the brewed coffee hot. You turn the switch one way to start the brew and after if goes to the top, it clicks, the light goes out and it is on the "warm" setting. Also as I found today if a turn the switch to the "warm" setting it takes a long time but it does heat the water or in most cases would be used to to ether keep the brewed coffee warm or reheat the coffee. Mine as I found today will not brew coffee on the warm setting.
