<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">Hello everyone! </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">Yesterday I lucked up on a Sunbeam Vista Electric Fryer with Crock Insert. </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">In great shape. In Avocado. A whopping $2.00! </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: x-large;">Unfortunately it did not have the manual and recipe book. </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: x-large;">Thought I would take a chance here to see if anyone knows at what temp to set the dial to cook a whole chicken in the crock? </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">I started it about two hours ago at 260 degrees. </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">Any suggestions? </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">Thanks in Advance! </span>
<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: x-large;">Brent</span>

That is nice! I would think cooking at about 250-275 would be about right for slow cooking, 325 if you want to cook it a little faster. I usually cook whole chicken in my oven or on the grill at about 275.

Brent, although I do not remember specifically who, I do believe someone here within the last 6 to 9 months also found one of these and I believe also included the recipe booket.  Hopefully that person will see the post.  It's very rare, apparently, to find these with the crockery insert not broken.

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Hi Guys,</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Thanks for the input.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: large;">Bob it was Jim (autowasherfreak) that has one.  I wrote to him but I guess he is away.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: large;">The crock insert in this one looked as though it was never used!  </span>

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: large;">I added the carrots, celery, and potatoes and ramped it up to 350 degrees for awhile.  The chicken was cooking nicely.  I just think 275 was too low.</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">I will let you know how it turns out.  </span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Smells awesome!</span>

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino; font-size: large;">Brent</span>

Oh my.....

<span style="font-size: large; font-family: georgia,palatino;">Jim you are awesome!</span>

<span style="font-size: large; font-family: georgia, palatino;">I would love for you to when you have some free time!</span>

<span style="font-size: large; font-family: georgia,palatino;">I will make it up to you!</span>

<span style="font-size: large; font-family: georgia,palatino;">Brent</span>

Taste better than it looks!

It was fun using this Crock!

Very simple and easy!  My style.

Thanks Bob,

Yes, I sent a harvest gold version to Jim "Autowasherfreak". His has a black band of decoration around the outside edge of the cover. I think I paid about $3 for the one I gifted him, complete w/ booklet.

Brent's manual that he bought of of eBay looks exactly like mine, right down to the color of the skillet on the front cover.  I thought if there was enough interest I would scan the book and share it will everyone here at AW.
