Thanks Rich and Gary!

Rich the dishes are my "good" ones, my mom gave them to me, and she hardly ever used them. I believe she bought them a little at a time from the Jewel Supermarket back in the 60's. On the back of the plate it reads: STAR GLOW ROYAL IRONSTONE
I have almost the complete set, only missing the s/p shakers and the coffee server.
These dishes turn up in the thrift stores quite often here.
You and Chuck are welcome for dinner anytime you want!

Gary: There's not much of a recipe for the chicken, all in the procedure. Thanks for the kind words too! You and Steve need to get here for dinner too!

Jeff that looks so good!! I haven't fried chicken in so long, might be time to give it a try again. PS I love those dishes too. The grocery stores us to do this often but I don't see that much anymore.

Let me get thru month end here at work

and I will post the recipie this weekend.

Its good stuff, easy to do, and not that bad for you either!

I imagine if you use Cannola Oil instead of Vegtable oil it might not be too bad.
We just started a change of eating habits here at home. I could stand to lose about 20 lbs, so we are trying the high protein, low carb diet. It's been two days so far. It's not too awful bad. Splenda with coffee is so much different than with regular sugar!
But I AM allowing myself 1 regular coke a day. Don't want to upset the insulin balance. My sister tried this diet some time ago and came down with a good case of the shakes. It turned out that an abrupt change in sugar intake caused her insulin levels to crash.
And we are not diabetics!

Chuck---I, too, love roasted garlic, but I've never made enough extra to 'bottle' it. How long will it keep covered in oil? I buy jars of peeled whole garlic cloves at WalMart (makes Chicken With 40 Cloves Of Garlic much easier, LOL!) and the use-by date is generally a month into the future.

Hoover 1060--the Hoover chicken looks great! Your meal is classic Sunday dinner fare.

How long will it keep covered in oil?

Frig, do you use this line often?

I'm pretty good about not letting water get into the oil after taking off the foil, and it's lasted a couple of months or more. We've never had to throw any out!

Hoov: Screw what the book says... RED!
