Couldn't sleep Sunday Morning so, I made coffee and sat down to CL.
There really has not been anything worth while here on the Cape lately except this which I picked up this morning...

Upon doing a Quick Clean and Shine before I installed Him, Look...

The Original Plastic Coating on the Chrome was still there after almost 30 years.

I had one of these about 3 years ago and brought it to our own stevet in Florida.

I used to have a KDS-19 which I bought Brand New in 1980. It cleaned well, but as we all know the Drying was Horrible. The 20 I had previously cleaned well but I wish it had the Constant Rinse. Of course this one doesn't have the Constant Rinse, but for the most part still does well.

Can't wait to Bob Load this Bad Boy tonight or tomorrow night.

As previously learned, I won't put the Lower Panel on until He runs a few times and there are no "Sudden Drips.

That is an amazing find. It still looks like new. I wonder if the people ever used it. Along the way I have come across people who own dishwashers but never use them. They usually say something like "it's just easier to wash the dishes in the sink" than use the dishwasher.
Maybe the people who originally owned this KDS-20 were like that?

The Machine came out of a house that was built in the 80's (1983 hence the age of the machine) A Young Couple bought the house and wanted replace the stove. So they went with a Black Maytag Range and Dishwasher. His wife said the KA cleaned well, but was too noisy. The Guy went on how clean the house was and how well maintained everything was when they bought the house.

Hmmmm... I should have asked them what was left behind for a Washer and Dryer by the previous owners. LOL !!!

WOW!

Did you get any history with the machine? Although the 20 lacked the constant rinse, it did have a slit, I think, in the plastic piece that fed the upper wash arm that sent a spray over the top of items in the top rack. It was better than nothing; how much, I don't know.

The only History on the machine is that the "Guy" I bought it from stated that "The Machine was metuculously maintained. And as you can see It was (Is).

Tom, I believe that "Slit" type assembly was sort of a replacement part for the Original Design for the Constant Rinse. There was also a Impeller type design that I have a few of. The Original design I believe hung down too low and most people didn;t even know they were there. Hence, putting something too tall in the center of the upper rack and snapping it off when they pushed the Rack in.[this post was last edited: 12/12/2011-15:54]

How beautiful Eddie....what a superb find, no pun intended, looks like it has nevre been used at all.......there are some homes where the dishwasher is installed, and the owners refuse to it one for one reason or another

I am just cleaning out the Fridge tonight and will run a load of Platics and Pots from reheating tonight.

I will post the Bob Load as I will cook "Heavy" tomorrow night.

@ Steve... Yes, Somehow when there is something on the Cape, I'll stumble upon it. This machine is soooo Beautiful. Now I have to run every cycle and figure out the sequence. As I don't have the Owner's Manual to tell me what's going on. I sort of regret giving up that 20 I gave you, but here's the replacement.

@ Patrick, Thanks for the kind words. I just get so excited when I find these Vintage Beauties here on the Cape as they (for the most part) were used by Older Couples or used in a High End Summer Home which are only used 3 times a year for Cocktail Glasses. LOL

Hey Mike...

I will go to sleep when I hear the Final "Snap" of the Drain Solenoid before it goes into the Dry Cycle.

My Joy in the morning will be to unlatch the door, hear the timer reset itself with the 4-5 clicks, and hopefully everything will be dry. (Including the Plastic Stuff. LOL

I love the sound of those clicks as the timer resets itself - one of my favorite parts of all rapid-advance machines!

Congrats on a beautiful find, what a low-use machine. Amazing to us that use these machines all the time that someone could walk by this everyday and NOT turn it on! You're probably right about the summer home, there is enough to do on the cape for vacationers to almost never need to eat at home!

Wonderfull! I love finds like that. Reminds me of the one I rescued and ended up giving to QSD_DAN. It has that shine that just screams "Somebody really loved me!" So, are you going to use it to remove any flower patterns off your dishes??? LOL!!
