Anyone know the correct color names of these two yellows?

One is a Westinghouse dishwasher from the 50's...so it'll be a confectionary color, I think, and the other is a Hotpoint from1 1961.

They look like 2 different colors, so I'm sure they have 2 different names, instead of just old and older yeller!~

Thanks,
Bob

Wow-Way cool machines, Bob

I'm no authority on colors of appliances, but there were some brands that used the term sunny yellow. Dunno if HP or Westy did, but I love yellow appliances. I do know better than to call them Harvest or Harvest Gold which wasn't introduced til the late 60s'. These sure are beautiful Bob. Enjoy them!

interiors

Here's one shot showing both interiors. Today, I was at the same buddy's place and noticed a SPARE CONTROL PANEL for the hotpoint dishwasher with very little wear and tear on it~ I nearly died.

inside the hotpoint

I don't think this machine saw water for about 25 years or so. It needs a motor, in case anybody has one.

We had the 1961 version of that Westy roll out. The control panel was different, but the insides are identical to yours. Ours did a remarkable job for an impeller machine, and held odd-shaped items well.

Bob, my best friend in high school, the house they were renting, had that hotpoint, was a copper type color. It was noisy. I am really not sure the big cast-iorn wash arm even rotated. I never heard any water swirling patterns as in wash arm passing by door. Just kinda like a rain shower from inside. It was a pretty aweful dishwasher. But glad ya saved it. This was the same house that had a Caloric cooktop and gas wall oven.

Sunburst Yellow

Bob those are both beautiful dishwashers. The Hotpoint's yellow is called Sunburst Yellow, I'm not sure what the Westinghouse yellow is called.

Very cool machines, glad to see you still have the LEMON YELLOW dishwasher (from the '59 Westinghouse brochure) It was also available in Sugar White, Coppertan, Mint Aqua, and Frosting Pink!

We had a similar Hotpoint dishwasher, the wash-arm was bakelite and had a tower sprayer mounted in the lower rack with a rubber grommet on the center of the arm that fed the tower. Horrible dishwasher but it was fun to load and hear running.
