Not that I even watch the superbowl....I forbd it to play on my TV....

But did any of you like the commercials?....which was your favorite?

You can go to Fancast.com and view all of them

My favorites were the Punchbuggy from VW, and Careerbuilder:Casual Friday....could you imagine being able to show up at work in just your skivvies?...at least one day of the week....would save on laundry...don't you think?

Snickers!

The Snickers commercial with Betty White and Abe Vigoda was funny. What got me about it was that part where Betty got tackled and put in the mud. If that was faked in any way, I haven't been able to spot the fakery yet - it looks like Betty just took one for the team. At 88, yet!

I thought some of the commercials were quite clever.
I loved the Betty White Snickers commercials.
Sandy her tackle was fake. Digital editing is so much fun. Although Betty did lay down in the mud and such, her tackle was a played by a double. They just super imposed her body into the frames. Quite a long process and not cheap. If you can pause it at 6 seconds and beyond by "seconds" you can see the edit. This is also the reason that her face is never shown on the "Take Down". As far as Abe, they added a fake sunshine catch by the camera so you could not see the double very clearly. No producer would ever leave in such a "sun glare" This one is actually added.
So much fun non the less. I am sure they payed Betty and Abe very well to do it.

Brent:

I'll take your word for it. This digital stuff is getting really good really fast. It was only 13 years ago that James Cameron pulled off the first digital face replacement in Titanic, to superimpose Leonardo diCaprio's and Kate Winslet's faces over those of stunt doubles. Frankly, it stunk - a child could have spotted it. Now, they're doing much more complicated stuff routinely.

Sandy,
I remember the edit you are talking about and agree with your whole. Funny that most people don't notice that stuff.
It think the biggest goof with the Snicker commercial is when Betty is in about 4" of water and then when they edit it talking a few frames later talking to the rest of the team her back is dry. I would consider this a "flub"

Ooops...my flub. Not agree with your whole. But Agree with your whole catch.
LoL!

Bark Bark Bark

I laughed hardest at the dog slipping the barking collar on the owner and taking his chips. Maybe I've grown jaded but I didn't feel the commercials were as funny or edgy as years before.

The dog one was the winner for me -- I can just picture my dog doing something like that to me if I ever tried to put a bark collar on him!!

Too Funny!

I loved the dog commercial.
I thought the dog was funny, but the guy was a hoot!
Another video that I liked was the Audi "Green Police" video.
Wonder if it will ever get to this.....

Like everyone else i thought they were near okay, Here is a couple (starting at about the 8 second mark), with The late and great Gov Ann Richards and Mario Cuomo. I remembered these, but was shocked to see they were form 1993. I never met Ms. Richards but always appreciated her. alr2903

I liked the commercial that CBS opted not to allow, which was for a mens dating site. Two guys with jerseys on, sitting on the couch watching the game and whooping it up over plays, etc, then they both go for the chips at the same time. Their hands touch. In an instant they are all over each other. It was as comical (for the masses) as it was realistic (for the average AW member).

Now that's an ad I'd like to see on the Super Bowl. Too bad CBS was still too spooked from a wardrobe malfunction to run it. As a result, I didn't watch any of the game. If I tune in at all, it's for the locker room scene after the game anyway, which IIRC they don't do anymore either. Sheesh! Insult to injury!
