There was also a Portable Sears Kenmore washer(with the controls on the front) for sale for $50(no water inlet hoses or discharge hose). I looked it over and thought about purchasing it. When I went back later, there was a SOLD sign on it. Oh well, maybe next time.................

Nice DW. These models are notorious for having problems with the washer arm sensor. There's a sensor that detects if the spray arm is spinnning or not, like if a pot handle gets in the way or something. It will stop the wash cycle, and it sits there and beeps. The problem is that the sensor is almost $60

I've got one of those little Kenmore compact washers, only under the Whirlpool name. Bought it at a Sears Scratch n dent outlet. It works great and is very gentle on the clothes. They have a unique design that doesn't use a transmission, but instead reverses the poles on the motor to drive the agitator back & forth. I have the portable kit for mine too, which is a set of casters, and a faucet attachment. When I was at college, I used it like this in my dorm apartment. Now that I have a house of my own, it's installed with it's own hookups in a closet off my bathroom.
