What's a new oven thermostat when you can enjoy such a nice avocado range? I'd like to stack concrete blocks on the warming tray until until the whole superstructure collapses. I'll bet it would not take much weight to do it either. Seller loses points for showing the ad for an electric range when selling a gas one. I think a similar range was sold with a shelf up there and it was called a microshelf range because a microwave oven could be place above the cooktop in the grease zone.

Oh, what's a little style without function? I love having the microwave in the grease zone, almost as much as the Americana ranges with the built-in range hood at the top, that guided greasy air over every niche and control surface. It made for a deliciously satisfying cleaning/detailing experience.

Actually, roto, if you examined an Americana, there were air intakes with filters under the upper oven to help pull the cooking vapors from pans on the stovetop. If you did not open the hood over the oven, all of the exhaust was drawn through these two intakes. That hood was mostly meant to take away the heat and vapors from broiling in either oven.
