Some time ago now ordered an agitator for my Maytag wringer washer with lint filter that arrived shattered to bits. See: https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?70846

Managed to put the thing back together using marine epoxy had lying about after repairing GE Mobile Maid dishwasher. Lo and behold the repair took and thing aside from looking patched up otherwise works fine.

This morning here's me getting a bit of washing done using the Maytag when remembered had news. Seller at time of incident did promise to make things right, and a few months ago they finally did. So here I am with this!

So now am pretty well stocked with Maytag wringer washer agitators with lint filters; this latest addition makes three!

Aside from being patched up the damaged agitator works fine. OTOH that one purchased by supposed Maytag repairman is neither use nor ornament. Not only did it arrive without a spline (which seller sent along NOS for free to make up for things), but won't suit my washer anyway. Saving grace is it has the lint filter.

Now with the very latest arrival of yet another agitator with lint filter, clearly one of them should go. All this with yet having also the original black Bakelite agitator that came with washer, and purchased a turquoise modern (with air cup) as well.

Tend to use the turquoise agitator most as it was designed to keep water from getting at seals and down into power housing. Anything one can do to delay eventual tear down and overhaul of transmission (oil, seals, etc..) the better IMHO. So only use lint filter/detergent dispenser agitator now and then, of course with two to chose from may have to change that a bit.

Help

I have this exact? same agitator in pieces after removing it from my Maytag wringer... the part number on mine is 15849. Which models do this agitator come from? I might try the epoxy trick too, but looking for another one just in case.
