Lovely clock and house. Looks too clean and sterile for me though. Ya need to clutter it up a bit with the some vintage Maytags ;)

"Looks too clean and sterile"

I know! But after having to de-clutter and stage or previous house, streamlined and not-so-personalized is our angle in the living and dining rooms.

Trust me, the rest of the house has a more lived-in look.

Hey Dan, is that Ann Margret putting on some mood music there?

Just to add this

I have a very small clock collection, meaning few, I have one giant wrought iron one in a bedroom. I love that Pharoah, I have a General Electric from the thirties I think, but the glass is missing. Has a beautiful solid wood case though.

Here's my May 3rd entry in Vacuumland on Yvette Vicker's unfortunate passing.

Congratulations

Ralph,
If you're interested, in the 'States (where I am currently not) I have an address for a supplier of Telechron "B" motors with both low and long shaft.
Even copper, though what he charges for them is enough to make me think the aluminium cases of the late '70s couldn't be that bad.

We've got a Grandmother clock with the full Winchester chimes up and running now - and a reserve Telechron motor for her, courtesy of a very nice woman at a thrift shop which helps fund local children's groups.

It seems to make a difference whether the thrift shop has a specific community aim or is just a centrally managed big-box place like Goodwill or SuperSavers.

Absolutely beautiful home and decor......love the tops of the doors......

thats an interesting clock....well displayed

but one question...when do we get to see a video?......lol

hugs

Martin

when do we get to see a video?

LOL! Video being the key term. There wouldn't be any audio. Just the second hand moving quietly around. I wonder how many thousands of hits that would get?

Keven, I love the size and shape of thumb on the guy on the left in your avatar. It's a good indicator of what else he has to offer . . .

I used to have a couple of spare rotors. They got lost over the years so I always have an eye out for old junker clocks for parts. I've read that the aluminum ones are actually better suited for reviving than the copper ones. Now that I've learned how to un-stick a dead rotor, it's not as crucial to find spares, though.

Allan, you might be able to find the glass for your GE through the Telechron forum where I got help with my Pharaoh. I've provided a link, and there are some PLU members, which makes me feel comfortable there.

besides..............you didn't have to tell me Ralph was into leather!......we love him just the same.....yeah!, tied to a cross rack, well, for starters!....you know creating a dungeon may increase the value of your home Ralph...may attract a whole new set of buyers....you laugh now, but it could happen......

our last house sat on the market for about 8 months, at the suggestion of the realtor, remove the washer and dryer from the kitchen, gasping and clutching my pearls, but we had 4 buyers fighting over our house, sold and moved in one week!

Seeing Ralph's outstanding living room, even if it is staged, we should do a thread on some of our rooms, and how we designed them, for ourselves, or the areas in which we live, to our small collections.......love to see them

creating a dungeon may increase the value of your home

I have a basement for that . . .

And yes, to twist a phrase: "I love the smell of leather in the living room."

A FULL basement.....but is it fully functional?....and on display?....sound proofed?.....did you install it yourself or have a contractor install it?....can you give us a demonstration...and by that I mean V I D E O!.....LOL....(could you see a designer or the construction crew with plans for installing a sling, or hooks for chains and handcuffs?)

I always seem to get the same question from buyers..."Does it come with the house?"....more precise, Does Ralph come with the house, or would you be considered optional equipment?....or more like a built in pool boy?

the message wasn't passed on by the realtor, but at the last house the buyers were offering to buy it fully furnished as is, even at the extra cost!.....would have saved a bundle on moving expenses, had we even known!......

I would love it if buyers wanted to purchase with living and dining room furniture. We intend to move into the style of house where this furniture does not belong!

Ralph

you need to make it known, loud and clear that the furniture would be optional, or available for sale, at extra cost, should any buyer be interested, it can't hurt..... can't imagine someone not considering how beautiful that room is........

when we got this house, the owner left the dining room furniture and the stainless steel island in the kitchen....it just fit this house perfect for the decor...otherwise he was gonna trash it.....although we have just replaced everyhing, with leather and marble, dining room table and 12 chairs, living room, and master bedroom all match, mainly because the rooms are next to each other, and we wanted to keep everything uniform.....
