that she and the first children are in hiding, because she has received death threats.

I am certainly unhappy with her decisions, but death threats?

Where is the compassion?

I can understand unhappiness with the idea that she will need public assistance for the indefinite future, but mercy.....

I have no compassion for her...she's plain stupid, irresponsible trash. What kind of a moron with 6 kids she can't afford to begin with, goes out and has 8 more, artificially. Those Poor Kids

I'm totally disgusted with this crazy chick. Yet, while my opinion is validated by the majority of observers I can't help but think about the 8 kids, the first U.S. case where all 8 have survived, and that instead of being media darlings and getting showered with financial and material help, their fate is uncertain. While this mom is highly irresponsible, it's sad to think that this special batch of kids could be scattered all over the place to lead separate lives with 8 different sets of parents as a result of CPS stepping in. Probably the worst case scenario, but I'm throwing it out there for the sake of example/discussion.

I'm not a fan of kids or the backward and irresponsible heterosexuals who over-breed, but am still sad for these 8 kids who were born into a situation that's not even remotely favorable for them. That's the real tragedy here. I can see the future tabloid articles and TV stories already, following the pathetic lives of these 8 innocent kids and laying a serious dose of negative self-fulfilling prophecy on every last one of them.

She may be mentally ill

It doesn't seem to be very rational to want 14 kids, split into two groups of the same age. She's said she plans on spending 45 minutes a day individually with each one... which I think works out to about 10 hours per day just for that. And then she says that she'll go back to graduate school, get her degree, and get a job to support them all. Right.

Currently I think it's said the medical bills to date will top $1 million. Mostly funded by taxpayers. I'm all for family values and raising kids but this is way too much.

At the same time, I'm a bit uncomfortable with the misogynistic jokes such as about filling her vagina with concrete and sewing it shut. I'm sure nobody here would want to have one of their orifices treated in the same fashion (or would you?).
