Huh? Not sure what you mean Jon, it was still Philco-Bendix I believe until about 1964 or so when I believe it became Philco-Ford.

Those Philco-Bendix owners manuals up today are about as rare as the machine is.

Bendix Baby

I was a Bendix Baby.  I think I was a helluva lot cuter than him.  It's just a shame my parents decided to remove my joy and thrill to be replaced by a 1956 GE top loader.

Having never seen a Philco working.....

do these washers have an oscillating agitator, or was it one-direction rapid spinning agitation? Was the base of the agitator attached to it and had the exact same movement, or was it a seperate piece with some wobbling action while the shaft kept spinning in one direction?

Videos

I just found the old videos here, looks like it was a one-direction rapid spin agitation for wash, I don't know what the wobble plate does though. Spin exatcly the same, or a different action for it?

Thanks

Hi Mark, actually there is no spinning of the agitator what so ever during agitation. The bottom rubber pulsator nutates (wobbles) in a similar fashion to the Whirlpool Calypso.
